Anca Ionela Mateescu (born in 1981) is a Mexican canoeist. She participated in the 2007 Pan American Games and earned a bronze medal for her country in the Women's K1 500m canoe sprint event. [1]
Jillian D'Alessio is a Canadian sprint kayaker. She was part of the Canadian women's K-4 500 m event who finished eighth at the 2004 Summer Olympics. Jillian also competed in the 2003 Pan American Games in the Dominican Republic where she won a gold medal in the K-4 500 m and a bronze medal in the K-1 500 m. Four years later in Rio de Janeiro, D'Alessio won a gold medal in the K-1 500 m and bronze in the K-4 500 m.
Canoeing at the 2007 Pan American Games took place at the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas, the same venue that hosted the Rowing and Water Skiing. Although the initial intention of the Organizing Committee was to have the whole Olympic program at the Pan American Games, the slalom competitions were abandoned due to the few number of probable participating countries.

Duron subsequently competed at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, but was eliminated in the repechages of the K-1 500 m event and the semifinals of the K-4 500 m event.

Canoeing competitions at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara were held from October 26 to October 29 at the Rowing and Canoeing Course in Ciudad Guzmán. The Canoe Slalom event was dropped due to an anticipated low number of entries. The winners of some events qualified to compete at the canoeing events at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, Great Britain. The Pan American Games were not a qualification tournament for the Olympics in the events K4M 1,000 and K4W 500.

If the host nation of the Olympics (Brazil) wins the event, the runner up will qualify instead.

She also added two individual Pan American Games silvers in 2019 in both the K-1 200 m, and K-1 500 m. Langlois competed as part of Canada's Olympic team at 2016 Rio Olympics.

Alanna Bray-Lougheed is a Canadian sprint kayaker. She is the current Pan American Games champion in the women's K-2 500 m with Andréanne Langlois, as well as in the K-4 500 metres with Langlois, Anna Negulic, and Alexa Irvin. Bray-Lougheed was selected by the RBC Training Ground program, an elite Olympic athlete training and identification program for Canada, and joined the Canadian national team in 2015. She competed in the 2017 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships, her first World Championships, and made the A Final in the K-2 1,000 m, finishing sixth.
