Andrae Murphy (born April 11, 1986) is an American college football coach. He was the head football coach for Dean College from 2022 to 2024. He also coached for Everglades High School, J. P. Taravella High School, Massachusetts Maritime, Florida Atlantic, Holy Cross, and Columbia. He played college football for Dean and Bridgewater State as a defensive back.
Murphy began his college football career with Dean as a defensive back where he earned First Team All-Northeast Junior College honors. He transferred to Bridgewater State in 2008. [1] [2] With the Bears he earned First Team All-NEFC and First Team All-New England honor as a defensive back and linebacker. [3] The team also won the 2008 NEFC Championship.
After graduating from Bridgewater State University, Murphy joined Everglades High School in Everglades City, Florida, in 2009 as a wide receivers coach. In 2010, he moved on to J. P. Taravella High School in Coral Springs, Florida, as a defensive back coach. [4]
Murphy earned his first college football coaching position as the defensive coordinator for Massachusetts Maritime of the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) in 2014. In his three-year stint with the Buccaneers, the team went 4–6 each season. [5]
In 2016, Murphy joined Florida Atlantic as a defensive quality control coach before joining Holy Cross as a defensive backs coach. Following his stint with the Crusaders he joined Columbia as a defensive quality control coach. [6] After one year in that position he transitioned into the defensive backs coach for the next four seasons. [7] [8]
Murphy was hired as Dean's head football coach following a 2–8 season and the stepping down of previous head coach Steve Tirrell. [9] In his first season with the team they finished with a 1–9 record which was good enough for last in the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC). [10] He won his first game as a head coach against Alfred State in a 36–35 overtime win. [11] Following a winless 2024 regular season, Murphy was relieved of his duties as head coach of the Bulldogs. He ended his career with a 3–25 total record with the NCAA division III program. [12]
Murphy graduated from Dean College with an associate degree in communications in 2007, Salem State University with a bachelor's degree in history in 2015, Lynn University with a master of business administration degree in sports management in 2017, and a master of science in sports management from Columbia University in 2019. From 2011 to 2015, Murphy served in the United States Army as a combat infantry fire team leader. He earned multiple Army Accommodation and Achievement medals. [13]

Commonwealth Coast Football was a single-sport athletic conference that competed in football in the NCAA's Division III. It began play as CCC Football in 2017 after the New England Football Conference (NEFC) was renamed following the 2016 season. CCC Football was administered by the Commonwealth Coast Conference, known since August 2024 as the Conference of New England.
James Michael Colclough(Pronounced: COAL-claw) was an American football flanker-split end, member of the original Boston Patriots team in the American Football League (AFL) and later head coach of the Division III Boston State College football team. Known as Coleslaw, a spin off his last name, Colclough played college football at Boston College, one season as a defensive back in the Canadian Football League (CFL) with the Montreal Alouettes in 1959 and nine more with the Patriots from 1960 to 1968, including the AFL's inaugural 1960 season.

Full member institutions are all located in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts with affiliate members also located in Connecticut, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Vermont, and Virginia. Coronta "Tay" Cody is an American former professional football player who was a defensive back in the National Football League (NFL) and Canadian Football League (CFL) for six seasons. He played college football for the Florida State Seminoles, earning consensus All-American honors in 2000. He was selected by the San Diego Chargers in the third round of the 2001 NFL draft, and he also played for the Edmonton Eskimos and Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the CFL.

Mark Steven Murphy is an American former professional football player who was a safety for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL). After graduating from GlenOak High School near his hometown of Canton, Ohio, Murphy attended West Liberty State College. At West Liberty, he played college football for all four years, with the last three as a starter for the Hilltoppers. In his senior year, he was named All-WVIAC and won the WVIAC championship. He went undrafted in the 1980 NFL draft, but was subsequently signed by the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent. He played for the Packers for 12 years before retiring in 1991. After his playing career, Murphy coached high school and college football in Ohio. He was elected to the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame in 1998 in recognition of his contributions to the team.
Lamarcus Joyner is an American professional football safety. After being named 2009 Defensive High School Player of the Year by USA Today, he played college football for the Florida State Seminoles and was selected by the St. Louis Rams in the second round of the 2014 NFL draft.

Theodore Edmond Bridgewater Jr. is an American professional football quarterback for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Louisville Cardinals, winning the 2013 Sugar Bowl, and was selected as the final first round pick of the 2014 NFL draft by the Minnesota Vikings. During his second season, Bridgewater led the Vikings to a division title and earned Pro Bowl honors. Upon suffering a severe leg injury the following offseason, Bridgewater appeared in only one game over the next two years.
James Walter Hopson is an American college football coach and former player. He is the cornerbacks coach for the University of South Alabama, a position he has held since 2023. He has been a head coach at Southern Miss and Alcorn State. In the latter role, he was the first white head football coach in the history of the Southwestern Athletic Conference, an organization composed of historically black colleges and universities. Hopson has also served as an assistant coach at Tulane, Delta State, LSU, Florida, Marshall, Southern Miss, Ole Miss, Michigan, and Memphis.
