Andrew Colvin AO APM is an Australian police officer who was the Commissioner of the Australian Federal Police from September 2014 [1] to September 2019. [2] On 5 January 2020, Colvin was appointed to lead the newly established National Bushfire Recovery Agency. [3] [4]
From July 2009 and May 2010 he studied for and received a master's degree in Public Administration from Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government. [5] [6]
Colvin joined the Australian Federal Police in 1990 and has worked in policing narcotics, money laundering, politically motivated crime, illegal pornography and terrorism financing. [7] He oversaw Australia's policing response to the 2002 Bali bombings, for which he was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM), upgraded to the AO in 2022 [5] in 2003, [1] and the Australian Embassy bombings in Jakarta. [7]
In 2008 Colvin was awarded the Australian Police Medal (APM). [5] [6]
He replaced Commissioner Tony Negus as head of the AFP in September 2014 [8] [9] and did not seek a contract extension and stepped down from the role in September 2019. [2]

Christine Nixon is an Australian former police officer who was the chief commissioner of Victoria Police from 23 April 2001 to 27 February 2009, being the first female chief commissioner in any Australian state police force. After leaving Victoria Police, she was appointed as chair of the Victorian Bushfire Reconstruction and Recovery Authority in February 2009 until she stood down from the position in July 2010.

Andrew Phillip Scipione, is a former police officer who served as Commissioner of the New South Wales Police Force, succeeding Ken Moroney on 31 August 2007. He retired from the New South Wales Police Force on 31 March 2017. He was farewelled with a guard of honour and was marched out by 100 of his fellow officers. His replacement as commissioner was Mick Fuller.

In July 2021, Fuller announced that he would be leaving the New South Wales Police Force in April 2022 to work in the private sector. Deputy commissioner Karen Webb was his replacement, effective 1 February 2022.

Four suspects were arrested without charge by Australian Federal Police on 29 July 2017 in Sydney on suspicion of an Islamic State inspired plot to plant a bomb on an Etihad Airways flight departing Sydney on 15 July 2017.
