Culbreath was inducted into the United States Marine Corps Sports Hall of Fame in 2008.
Silas Edward Southern was an American sprinter and hurdler who won a silver medal in the 400 metres hurdles at 1956 Olympics. He won another silver medal in the 4 × 400 m relay at the 1959 Pan American Games.
The men's 400 metres hurdles was a track and field athletics event held as part of the Athletics at the 1904 Summer Olympics programme. It was the second time the event was held. She was a four-time All-American and a five-time Big West Conference champion in two years of competition at the University of Idaho and holds school records in the sprints, hurdles, jumps, multi-events and relays at both Idaho and the University of New Mexico. She also holds two Big West records in the 100m hurdles. She is currently an assistant track and field coach at Washington State University.

Dalilah Muhammad is an American track and field athlete who specializes in the 400 meters hurdles. She is the 2016 Rio Olympics champion and 2020 Tokyo Olympics silver medalist, becoming at the latter the then-second-fastest woman of all time in the event with her personal best of 51.58 seconds. Muhammad was second at both the 2013 and 2017 World Championships to take her first gold in 2019, setting the former world record of 52.16 s. She was the second female 400 m hurdler in history, after Sally Gunnell, to have won the Olympic, World titles and broken the world record. At both the 2019 World Championships and Tokyo Games, she also took gold as part of women's 4 × 400 metres relay team.
Sharrieffa Barksdale is an American hurdler. She was born in Harriman, Tennessee. She competed at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, where she reached the semi-finals in women's 400 m hurdles. Barksdale owns one on one training academy. Barksdale was an American record holder in 400 m hurdles. Sharrieffa Barksdale is a member of Sigma Gamma Rho.
Sage Walker is a Canadian athlete specializing in the 400 metres hurdles. Competing internationally for Canada, she is the reigning Pan American champion in the 400 m hurdles, having also won Pan American medals in 2015 and 2019 as part of Canada's relay team.

Jarvis Lavonne Scott was an American sprinter. She competed in the women's 400 metres at the 1968 Summer Olympics. She qualified by winning the 1968 Olympic Trials. She also finished third in the 800 meters behind eventual gold medalist Madeline Manning but declined her position in that event allowing Francie Kraker to run. She is the first American woman and the last American to qualify for the Olympics in both the 400 and 800.
Dewey Lee Yoder Jr was an American hurdler, known as Lee Yoder. Yoder attended Mercersburg Academy as a youth, where he trained under Jimmy Curran. He came second in the 400 metres hurdles at the 1952 US Olympic trials, beaten only by eventual gold medalist Charles Moore. He competed in the 400 metres hurdles at the 1952 Summer Olympics.
Schowonda Williams is an American hurdler. She competed in the women's 400 metres hurdles at the 1988 Summer Olympics.
