ANIPLUS Asia is an East and Southeast Asian anime pay television channel and anime distributor based in Singapore. Founded on 25 November 2013, it is available in various countries in the Asia-Pacific region, including (aside from Singapore) Malaysia, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Thailand. [1] It is also available in South Korea, operated by its sister company ANIPLUS.

Contents

The channel acquires content from various anime distributors such as Muse Communication and Medialink. It also licenses anime series and offers select titles to OTT platforms: Netflix, Bilibili, and iQIYI. The channel airs the notable anime series from Japan. Notable series include Attack on Titan , Psycho-Pass and Kantai Collection .

History

The channel was first launched in Singapore in March 2014 on pay-TV provider Singtel TV. [2] In August 2015, it partnered with OTT platform iflix to distribute 21 of their titles via its VOD service. [3] In June 2016, ANIPLUS Asia started to be distributed in Thailand on free-to-air channel Now26 as a programming block, thanks to a partnership deal with Mediaplex International. [4] In September, it was launched in Hong Kong on video streaming site Le.com. In November, it is picked up by streaming website Tribe in Indonesia, and it reaches the Philippines in December on that same platform. [5]

In January 2017, ANIPLUS Asia partnered with Philippine free-to-air television channel TV5 to revive their ANiMEGA anime programming block. [6] The block premiered with Attack on Titan: Junior High , Myriad Colors Phantom World and Kantai Collection, dubbed in Tagalog. [7] In February, it is launched in Malaysia on satellite provider Astro. [8] On May of that same year, it is picked up by Sky Cable in the Philippines. [9] On May 25, 2018, ANIPLLUS Asia was available on Easy TV Home in the Philippines, but has ceased operations since September 30, 2019. [10]

Yey! Filipino pay television channel

Yey! was a Philippine pay television channel created by ABS-CBN and one of the freemium channels of ABS-CBN TVplus. Yey! was the second animation channel of ABS-CBN after the defunct Hero TV, a cable channel previously owned by ABS-CBN's narrowcast arm Creative Programs. The channel primarily aired Filipino-dubbed Japanese anime series and foreign cartoon shows, along with limited imported programming from ABS-CBN's main channel and Hero TV. Yey! operated from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM from Mondays to Sundays.

<i>WIXOSS</i> Japanese collectible card game, launched by Tomy in 2014

WIXOSS is a Japanese multimedia franchise produced as a collaboration between Takara Tomy, J.C.Staff, and Warner Entertainment Japan. The franchise revolves around the eponymous trading card game and follows girls known as Selectors who battle against each other in order to have their wishes granted. The trading card game by Takara Tomy launched in Japan in April 2014. An anime television series by J.C.Staff, titled selector infected WIXOSS, aired in Japan between April and June 2014, with a second season, selector spread WIXOSS, airing between October and December 2014. A compilation film, titled selector destructed WIXOSS, was released on February 13, 2016. A sequel anime television series, titled Lostorage incited WIXOSS, aired from October to December 2016. A new anime television series titled Lostorage conflated WIXOSS, aired from April to June 2018. Another anime television series, titled WIXOSS Diva(A)Live, aired in January 2021. HOOQ was a Singaporean video on demand streaming service. It was a joint-venture of Singtel, Sony Pictures and Warner Bros., with presence in the Philippines, Thailand, India, Indonesia, and Singapore. HOOQ filed for liquidation on 27 March 2020, and shut down on 30 April 2020.

It was launched on 17 September 2014 and it is available in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Philippines. It also offers select titles to OTT platforms iflix, LeEco and Tribe. K+ is based in Singapore and is owned by Plus Media Networks, a subsidiary of South Korea-based JJ MediaWorks.

Muse Communication Co., Ltd. is a Taiwanese distributor and licensor that specializes in the distribution of Japanese anime. Based in Xinzhuang District, New Taipei City, the company also distributes Asian and European films in Taiwan.
