Anita Joy Dow is an Australian politician and the Deputy Leader of the Opposition. She was elected to the Tasmanian House of Assembly for the Labor Party in the Division of Braddon at the 2018 state election. [3] [4]
She was Mayor of Burnie from 2014 until 2017, [5] and previously worked as a registered nurse. [3]
Following Labor's loss at the 2021 state election,Labor leader Rebecca White and deputy leader Michelle O’Byrne resigned their positions. Dow was elected unopposed as deputy leader.

On 31 October 2017,Parry informed the government that he may be a British citizen,and issued his intention to resign from his position if dual nationality was confirmed. The next day he reported that he had received confirmation of his dual citizenship and,on 2 November,he resigned as president and from the Senate. He was replaced in the Senate by next Liberal Party Tasmanian Senate candidate and former senator Richard Colbeck after a recount.

She resigned on 27 July 2020,saying it was the right time for her to depart at the time of her choosing,and to give her presumptive successor,Felix Ellis,the chance to "establish his credentials".

The 2021 Australian Labor Party leadership election was a leadership vote that was held between 24 May and 15 June 2021 to elect a new leader of the Tasmanian Labor Party following the resignation of Rebecca White. Ballots of members and delegates to the party conference took place to elect a new leader,with both ballots being weighted equally to determine the results. Shadow Treasurer and Franklin MP David O'Byrne was elected to the role,with 72% of members' support,and 75% of delegates' support.
