The Board of Control for Cricket in India, also known as BCCI, is the principal national governing body of the sport of cricket in India. Its headquarters are situated at the Cricket Centre in Churchgate, Mumbai. BCCI is the wealthiest governing body of cricket in the world.
The Arun Jaitley Stadium is a cricket stadium owned and operated by the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) and located on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, New Delhi. It was established in 1883 as the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, and named after the nearby Kotla fort. India recorded its first-ever Test win in November 1976 against West Indies under Shantha's captaincy at the Moin-ul-Haq Stadium in Patna. She also played in 19 Women's One-day Internationals from 1981-82 to 1986, captaining the side in 16 matches from 1981-82 to 1983–84.
Jaya Sharma is an Indian former cricketer who played as a left-handed batter. She appeared in one Test match, 77 One Day Internationals and one Twenty20 International for India between 2002 and 2008, including playing at the 2005 World Cup. The Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) is the governing body of cricket activities in Delhi, India. It is affiliated to the Board of Control for Cricket in India. The Delhi cricket team is the team for Delhi & District Cricket Association in the Ranji Trophy and other domestic tournaments. The DDCA is responsible for both men's and women's teams of U14, U16, U19, U23 and seniors.
Shashi Gupta is a former Indian Test and One Day International cricketer and former National Selector of the Indian Women's Cricket Team at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). She has played a total of 13 Tests and 20 ODIs from 1984-93 including the Women’s Cricket World Cup in 1993. Virender Sharma is an Indian international umpire and former cricketer. He played in fifty first-class and forty List A matches for Himachal Pradesh between 1990 and 2006. Sharma stood as an umpire in the Twenty20 tour match between India A vs South Africans on 29 September 2015.
Deepti Sharma is an Indian cricketer who plays for Bengal, Birmingham Phoenix and India. She is an all-rounder who bats left-handed and bowls right-arm off break. As of 2018, she was ranked 3rd in the top all-rounders in the ICC Cricket Rankings and had the third highest individual score by a female cricketer in ODIs.
Rishabh Rajendra Pant is an Indian international cricketer who plays for the Indian cricket team as a wicket-keeper batter. He plays for Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League. Having played all formats for India, he is best known for his consistency to score runs in Test cricket. Pant plays for Delhi in domestic cricket.
Venkat Sunderam is a former Indian first-class cricketer who played for Delhi and Tamil Nadu. After his playing career, he became a selector for Delhi and pitch committee chairman for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
Vinay Lamba is an Indian former first-class cricketer who played for Delhi and current chairman of selection committee of the Delhi District Cricket Association.
Tarak Sinha was an Indian cricket coach who ran the Sonnet Cricket Club in Delhi. In a coaching career that spanned over fifty years, he coached over 12 cricketers who went on to play international cricket for India and more than 100 first-class cricketers. Some of his famous students included Ashish Nehra, Aakash Chopra, Rishabh Pant, Shikhar Dhawan and Anjum Chopra. He also briefly served as the coach of the India women's national cricket team between 2001 and 2002.
The Bangladesh cricket team toured India in November 2019 to play two Test and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The Test series formed part of the inaugural 2019–2021 ICC World Test Championship. It was the second time that Bangladesh toured India to play a Test series, and the first time that Bangladesh played a T20I series against India in India. The Test series also featured the first day/night match to be played by either side.
