Anjum Moudgil (born 5 January 1994) is an Indian sport shooter. She is from Chandigarh and represents Punjab. [2] [3] [4] [5] She is supported by GoSports Foundation through the Rahul Dravid Athlete Mentorship Programme. [6] [7]

Early life

Anjum took up shooting while studying in Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School in Chandigarh. [8] She completed her graduation and post graduation in humanities from DAV College, Chandigarh. [9] She completed her Masters in sports psychology. She is an avid abstract artist and has sold many of her artworks.

She became a Sub Inspector (SI) with Punjab Police, India.[ citation needed ]

Career

At the ISSF World Championship in Changwon, Anjum Moudgil won a Silver medal in the women's 10m air rifle event. [10]

The 24 years old shooter, shot a total of 248.4 in the eight-women final to open the Indian senior squad's medal account in the prestigious tournament. [11]

2016

She took 9th Position at the 2016 World Cup, Munich and silver medal in World University Championship. She took gold in South Asian Games.

2017

She won the silver medal in 10m Air Rifle Sardar Sajjan Singh Sethi Memorial Masters.

2018

She won a silver medal in the women's 50m Rifle 3 Positions (3P) event at the ISSF World Cup in Mexico. At the Commonwealth Games (CWG) she secured the silver medal, scoring 455.7 points, achieving 151.9 in kneeling and 157.1 in prone. In the qualification round, she broke the CWG Qualifying record by a significant margin. Moudgil scored 589 (196 in kneeling, 199 in prone and 194 in standing).

2019

On 1 May 2019, Anjum claimed the world number 2 spot in women's 10m Air Rifle ISSF rankings. [12] [13] [3] She was India's No. 1 in Women’s 50m 3P.

Awards

Anjum is one of 19 athletes picked up by the selection committee for the Arjuna Award year 2019. [14]

Seonaid McIntosh is a British sports shooter who became the World Champion at the 2018 ISSF World Shooting Championships in the 50m Prone Rifle event. In 2019 she became Britain's most successful female rifle shooter of all time, winning five World Cup medals. She also became the first British Woman to rank World #1 for the 50m Rifle Three Position event and became European Champion in the 300m Rifle Prone event with an equal World Record score.

Mehuli Ghosh is an Indian sport shooter, supported by OGQ. She represents India at international junior shooting championships across the world. Among 123 competitors, she was the only Indian shooting athlete to reach the finals of the 2018 junior shooting competition held in the Czech Republic. She ranked seventh there. In 2018, at the XXI Commonwealth Games held at Gold Coast, Australia, she won a silver medal in Women's 10m Air Rifle after a shoot-off with Martina Veloso. As of September 2023, she was ranked 36th in the world and 14th in Asia.

Arjun Babuta is an Indian sport shooter, supported by OGQ. He is from Chandigarh who competes in the 10 meter air rifle events. Arjun has been a part of the Indian Shooting Team since 2016. He has represented India at the ISSF Junior World Cup 2016(Suhl), ISSF Junior World Cup 2016(Gabala), ISSF Junior World Championship 2017(Suhl) and the ISSF Junior World Cup 2018(Sydney).

Elavenil Valarivan is a sport shooter from Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, India, supported by OGQ. Elavenil represented India at the 2018 ISSF Junior World Cup and won a gold medal and she clinched silver in world university Games in 2019 after which she won gold at World Junior World Cup Suhl 2019. She has won first at 2019 ISSF 10-meter Air Rifle world cup on 28 August scoring 251.7 in Rio de Jenerio. She is also Arjuna Awardee (2022).

This article details the qualifying phase for shooting at the 2020 Summer Olympics. 300 quota places for the Games are entitled to the shooters coming from their respective NOCs, based on the results at designated ISSF supervised Championships subjected to the ISSF rules from September 1, 2018, to June 6, 2021. Host nation Japan has been guaranteed twelve quota places with one in each of the individual events. Four quota places will be awarded to the shooters competing in each of the mixed team events, while the highest-ranked shooter, who has not qualified yet or whose NOC does not have a berth in any of the twelve individual events, will obtain a direct Olympic quota place through the World Rankings. The remaining twenty-four quota places are available to the eligible NOCs under the Tripartite Commission Invitation, with two in each of the individual event, to attain a maximum number of 360.

Divyansh Singh Panwar is an Indian sport shooter, supported by OGQ. He won the silver medal in the 10 metre air rifle event at the 2019 ISSF World Cup in Beijing and secured a quota position for India at the 2020 Summer Olympics where he achieved rank 32 at the Men's 10 metre air rifle event.

Sift Kaur Samra is an Indian sport shooter, supported by OGQ. She holds the current world record in Women's 50 metre rifle three positions final which was set while she won the gold medal in the Women's 50 metre rifle three positions event at the 2022 Asian Games. She was also a part of the team that won the silver medal in the Women's 50 metre rifle three positions team event at the 2022 Asian Games.

Tilottama Sen is an Indian sport shooter from Bangalore. In 2023, she won the silver medal in the women's 10m air rifle event at the Asian Shooting Championship at Changwon in South Korea, earning a quota place for the Paris Olympics.
