Ann "Athena" Osman (born 19 June 1986) is a Malaysian mixed martial artist who became the country's first female pro mixed martial artist. [1]
Born in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah of mixed-race parentage, to a Malay father from Selangor and Kadazan-Dusun mother from Tambunan and grew up in Illinois, United States, [2] [1] Osman is the Malaysia's first-ever woman to compete professionally in ONE Fighting Championship (ONE FC). She has trained for more than 12 years in MMA and has a strong background in Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu jitsu, Wrestling and Boxing where she was competing out of Borneo Tribal Squad. [3] [4] [5] [6]
In January 2018, she announced her retirement from her MMA career with a professional record of 5–4, wanting to focus on her new careers. [7] [8]
