Anna Elizabeth Sabine [1] is a British Liberal Democrat politician who has been the Member of Parliament for Frome and East Somerset since 2024. She gained the seat from the Conservative Party. [2] She won 16,580 votes (35.5%),with a majority of 5,415. [3]
Sabine grew up in Hampshire. She studied Philosophy,politics,and economics at Wadham College,University of Oxford. [4] [5]
She moved to the area in about 2004,and has two teenage children. [6]
David Digby Rendel was a British politician for the Liberal Democrats. He was the Member of Parliament (MP) for Newbury from 1993 to 2005. He won the seat in a by-election in May 1993 caused by the death of Judith Chaplin,and he held it until his defeat at the 2005 general election to Conservative candidate Richard Benyon. At the time he lost his seat he was the Liberal Democrats' spokesman on Higher and Further Education. In September 2014,Rendel was selected as Liberal Democrat candidate in the 2015 general election for the seat of Somerton and Frome in Somerset;however,he lost to the Conservative candidate,David Warburton.

On his election in the 2015 general election he represented the Conservative Party,but was suspended from the party in April 2022 pending the outcome of an Independent Complaints and Grievance Scheme (ICGS) investigation into allegations,eventually withdrawn,of harassment and class A drug use. Prior to entering politics,he was the founder,chief executive and chairman of Pitch Entertainment Group. On 17 June 2023,Warburton announced his resignation as an MP,triggering a by-election.
