Annette Seiltgen (born 26 June 1964 in Wuppertal [1] ) is a German operatic mezzo-soprano/dramatic soprano.

Career

Seiltgen grew up in an artistic environment. Her father, Ernst Seiltgen  [ de ], was intendant and long-time director of the Stadttheater Ingolstadt, her mother is the opera, concert and oratorio singer Emmy Lisken. During her school days in Ingolstadt, where she attended the Reuchlin-Gymnasium, [2] she played in the statistery (?) of the theater and sang in several choirs. Seiltgen studied singing with her mother at the Leopold Mozart Centre in Augsburg. She received her first engagement as a mezzo-soprano at the Staatstheater Kassel. Subsequently she moved to the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich. From 1996 to 2011 she was a member of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein ensemble. There she sang all the great roles of the lyrical and dramatic mezzo repertoire among others: Ruggiero (Alcina), Sesto (La clemenza di Tito), Venus (Tannhäuser), Octavian (Der Rosenkavalier), the composer (Ariadne auf Naxos), Adalgisa (Norma), Fricka (Die Walküre) as well as Brangäne (Tristan und Isolde).

Seiltgen has made guest appearances in Berlin (Komische Oper Berlin), Darmstadt, Dortmund, Essen, Frankfurt, Hanover, Koblenz, Leipzig, Mannheim, Mainz, Munich (Bayerische Staatsoper), Nuremberg, Passau and Stuttgart, as well as on the music stages of Amsterdam, Buenos Aires (Teatro Colón), Geneva, Madrid, Maastricht, Nice, Savonlinna, Santiago de Chile and Strasbourg. She is currently a member of the ensemble of the Landestheater Niederbayern. [3]

In addition to her stage presence, the artist is also active as a concert singer. Her concerts have been recorded by the ZDF, the Hessischer Rundfunk, the Bayerischer Rundfunk and the Omroepvereniging VARA.

Gabriele Schnaut is a German classical singer who started her operatic career as a mezzo-soprano in 1976 and changed to dramatic soprano in 1985. She has appeared internationally and performed at the Bayreuth Festival from 1977 to 2000. She recorded works by composers of the 20th century and appeared in the premieres of operas by Wolfgang Rihm and Jörg Widmann.

Trudeliese Schmidt was a German operatic mezzo-soprano who had an international career, performing at major opera houses and festivals in Europe. The singer with a remarkable stage presence excelled in trouser roles such as Cherubino, Idamante, Hänsel, Octavian and the composer in Ariadne auf Naxos. She performed in premieres of operas by Isang Yun and Manfred Trojahn.

Ingrid Haubold is a German operatic soprano. After beginning her career in Munich and continuing with German companies, she moved on to major international opera houses, appearing as Isolde in Wagner's Tristan und Isolde at the Teatro Real in Madrid in 1986, as Senta in Der fliegende Holländer at the Savonlinna Opera Festival, and in the title role of Beethoven's Fidelio at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City.

Erna Schlüter was a German operatic dramatic soprano and voice teacher. Beginning as a contralto at the Oldenburgisches Staatstheater in 1922, she moved to the Nationaltheater Mannheim in 1925 where her voice developed to dramatic soprano, to the Stadttheater Düsseldorf in 1930 where she appeared in 1933 in the world premiere of Winfried Zillig's Der Rossknecht and was awarded the title Kammersängerin. Her last station, from 1940, was the Hamburg State Opera.

Ursula Wendt-Walther was a German operatic soprano. She was a member of the Staatstheater Nürnberg for decades, where she performed leading roles by Mozart, Strauss and Wagner. In contemporary opera, she appeared as Marie in Bernhard Zimmermann's Die Soldaten, and created the role of Marei in Zemlinsky's Der Traumgörge.

Horst Günter was a German operatic baritone and voice teacher.

Ina Gerhein is the stage name of Sabine Heinzinger, a German operatic mezzo-soprano and contralto who was a long-term member of the Bavarian State Opera.

Ruthild Engert-Ely was a German operatic mezzo-soprano and alto.

Anja Petersen is a German operatic soprano and university lecturer. She works as a soloist in opera and concert, and as a member of the RIAS Kammerchor. She has appeared in world premieres in both opera and concert, including the leading woman role in Arnulf Herrmann's Der Mieter at the Oper Frankfurt in 2017.

She focused on dramatic roles by Wagner, including Brünnhilde and Isolde, and Strauss, including Ariadne and the Dyer's Wife. She was awarded the title Kammersängerin in Germany in 2004 and in Austria in 2020.
