Anthony Youdeowei is a Nigerian professor of Agricultural Entomology. He was acting vice chancellor, dean and executive chairman at the University of Ibadan Publishing House. He is a founding fellow of the African Academy of Sciences and The World Academy of Sciences. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]
Youdeowei was born on 7 April 1937 in Abari, Delta State, Nigeria. [1] He earned his first degree in Zoology from the University College of Ibadan (now University of Ibadan) in 1962 and a PhD in Agricultural Entomology in 1967 from the University of London. [2]
Youdeowei became a lecturer at the Department of Agricultural Biology in 1973 and a professor in 1990. During his academic career, he was a Head of the Department of Agricultural Biology, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry, Acting Vice Chancellor and Executive Director of the University of Ibadan Publishing House. Youdeowei joined West Africa Rice Development Association (WARDA, now Africa Rice) located in Bouaké in the Ivory Coast as a Director of Training and Communications. In 1997, he moved to Africa Regional Office of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) located in Accra, Ghana, as a Consultant Senior Integrated Pest Management Specialist. He became a member of the Governing Council of ICIPE, the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology Nairobi, Kenya in 2010. [1] [2] [3]

Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) is a federal government-owned university that is located in the ancient city of Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria. The university was founded in 1961 and classes commenced in October 1962 as the University of Ife by the regional government of Western Nigeria, which was led by Samuel Ladoke Akintola. It was renamed "Obafemi Awolowo University" on 12 May 1987 in honour of Obafemi Awolowo (1909–1987), the first premier of the Western Region of Nigeria, whose idea the university was.

Akinlawon Ladipo "Akin" Mabogunje was a Nigerian geographer. He was the first African president of the International Geographical Union. In 1999, he was the first African to be elected as a Foreign Associate of the United States National Academy of Sciences. In 2017, he was elected a Foreign Honorary Member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and received the Vautrin Lud Prize.
Cyril Agodi Onwumechili was a Nigerian physicist, academic administrator, and professor of geophysics at the University of Ibadan and later University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He was the fourth Vice Chancellor of the University of Ife from January 1979 to December 1982 and the former President/Vice Chancellor of the Anambra State University of Technology, Enugu, Nigeria, from January 1983 to December 1986. He delivered the Ahiajoku lecture on November 20, 2000. He was the first Nigerian geophysicist and the second president of the Nigerian Academy of Science. He was elected as president of the Academy in 1979 to succeed Professor Victor Adenuga Oyenuga, the first emeritus professor of the University of Ibadan and the first African professor of Agricultural science.

She is the current Deputy Vice Chancellor of research, innovation and strategic partnership, the first person to attain the role at the university.
