Lactantius Placidus was the presumed author of a commentary on Statius's poem Thebaid. Wilhelm Siegmund Teuffel considered him to be the same person as Luctatius Placidus, the ostensible author of a medieval Latin glossary titled Glossae Luctatii Placidi grammatici.
