Anwari Ashraf Hashim (born 19 August 1989) is Malaysian screenwriter, film producer, film director and occasional actor. He is currently become Head of Development in Astro Shaw who also created Writers' Room program. He's also one of the key person behind Polis Evo franchise alongside Joel Soh and Kyle Goonting.

Career

Anwari began his filmmaking career when he goes to London, United Kingdom upon received Scholarship from Astro, [1] thus studied film video and interaction arts in Middlesex University. By the meantime, he created a short drama dark comedy film titled Kiamu! and received official selection for Portobello Film Festival in London. [2]

After returning to Malaysia, he co-written the screenplay of 2014 film, Rentap; starring Syafie Naswip, Elfira Loy and Zahiril Adzim. [3] He later approached by Joel Soh to co-written his first film with Astro Shaw, Polis Evo alongside Joel and Kyle Goonting. [4] [1]

Personal life

Anwari was born in Kulim, Kedah [1] and raised in Kuala Lumpur.

Anwari married with Fatin Humaizah in 2011 just after he graduated from his alma mater.[ citation needed ]

The film tells the story of two police officers, Inspector Khai and Inspector Sani who have very different personalities but are forced to work together to bring down a drug trafficking operation. Syafiq Kyle stars as Inspector Nuar Ishak who discovers twins Balqis and Qistina, one dead and one alive, trapped in an abandoned house. Since heading the investigation for this case, Inspector Nuar begins experiencing paranormal disturbances and although he realises his judgement is progressively affected and also has problems with his own twin, Nur, he must solve the case before more lives are lost.

Keluang Man is an upcoming 2025 Malaysian live-action superhero film based on the eponymous Malaysian animated series. Produced by Astro Shaw and Pasal Productions, it's a live-action film based on the animated series created by the late Kamn Ismail, and will be the first fully live-action film from a Malaysian animation series of the 1990s. The film will be directed by Anwari Ashraf, who co-wrote it with Roshfaizal Ariffin and Luqman Sheikh Ghazali. It stars Nas-T as Keluang Man, Remy Ishak as Shamsir, Rosyam Nor as Ahmad and Anwaar Beg Moghal as Inspector Sahab.

Polis Evo film series is composed of buddy cop action comedy film, created by Joel Soh, Kyle Goonting and Anwari Ashraf whose previously became an Astro Scholarship Students. The films are presented with distributed by Astro Shaw and produced by Joel Soh. The series features Shaheizy Sam as Khairul / Inspector Khai and Zizan Razak as Hassani / Inspector Sani.

Joel Soh is a Malaysian film producer and director. He is a founder and managing director of his own company, Blackflag and the only producer for Polis Evo franchise since its debut in 2015. The films he produced have a combined box office over RM95 million, making him become one of the highest grossing producers in Malaysia, with Polis Evo 3 collecting RM54 million.
