The Naga People's Front (NPF) is a regional political party in Nagaland and Manipur, India. It headed the Nagaland government with the Bharatiya Janata Party, as part of the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland from 2003 to 2018. Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu is the president of the party. Till 16 January 2018 Neiphiu Rio, the Lok Sabha member from the lone constituency of Nagaland was the main leader of the party. On 22 March 2004 the NPF absorbed the Nagaland Democratic Party.

Mokokchung (Pron:/ˌməʊkɒkˈtʃʌŋ/) is a municipality in the Mokokchung District of Nagaland, India. It serves as the district headquarters as well as the main urban hub of Mokokchung District. Taditui Rangkau Zeliang is an Indian politician of who served twice as the Chief Minister of Nagaland, a state in India, from May 2014 to February 2017 and from July 2017 to March 2018. A leader of the Naga People's Front, T.R Zeliang took over the reins as Chief Minister of Nagaland following the shift of Neiphiu Rio to national-level politics. T.R Zeliang previously served as a Member of Parliament, representing Nagaland in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament. Currently, he serves as the Leader of the NPF Legislature Party and Leader of Opposition in Nagaland Legislative Assembly.

P. Shilu Ao was a Naga politician who was involved in the negotiations leading to the creation of Nagaland, in the north-eastern part of India, as one of the states and territories of India in December 1963. Ao then served as the first Chief Minister of Nagaland until August 1966. Ao played a part in persuading the Indian Government and the Lok Sabha to grant Nagaland separate statehood but was not able to reconcile many Naga nationalists who regarded him and his party, as stooges of the central government.

The number of constituencies was set as 60 by the recommendation of the Delimitation Commission of India.
Chubatoshi Apok Jamir is an Indian politician. He was a Member of Parliament, representing Nagaland in the Rajya Sabha the upper house of India's Parliament as a member of the Indian National Congress from 1998 to 2004. He also won the 2008 and 2013 elections for the Nagaland Legislative Assembly representing Mokokchung Town constituency.
