Apurvi Singh Chandela (born 4 January 1993) is an Indian Shooting player who competes in the 10 metre air rifle event. She won the gold medal in the 2019 ISSF World Cup in New Delhi. [1] She is a recipient of Arjuna award.
Chandela was born on 4 January 1993 in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Her father, Kuldeep Singh Chandela, is a hotelier and a sports enthusiast and mother, Bindu Rathore, is a businesswoman, who was a basketball player. [2] She did her schooling from Mayo College Girls School Ajmer & Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls' School, Jaipur. She studied Sociology honours from Jesus and Mary College, Delhi University.
In her early years, Chandela wanted to become a sports journalist, but she was inspired to take up shooting as a sport by Abhinav Bindra's performance at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, where he won a gold medal in shooting. Initially, she had to travel for 45 minutes to reach a shooting range in Jaipur. Later on, her parents set up a shooting range for 10-meter air rifle practice for her at their home. [2]
In 2009, Chandela won the All India School Shooting Competition, and the Senior national shooting championship in 2012. She registered podium finishes at national events at least six times during 2012–2019. [3]
Chandela enjoys reading in her free time and practices meditation to enhance her focus to help her game. [3]
In 2012, Chandela won the gold medal in the 10 metres air rifle event at the National shooting and chandela was a woman shooter champion in New Delhi, her first year in the senior circuit. [4] [5] In 2014, she won four medals at the InterShoot Championships at The Hague, that included two individual and two team medals. [6] In the same year, she won the gold medal in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, having scored 206.7 points in final, in the process creating a new games record. [7] And a year later, she debuted in ISSF World Cup in Changwon, where she won a bronze medal.
Chandela [8] qualified for the 2016 Rio Olympics in the women's 10m air rifle event, where she finished at 34th position in the qualification round out of 51 contestants. [9] [10] Chandela received the Arjuna Award, from the President of India in 2016. [1]
At the 2018 Asian Games, she paired with Ravi Kumar for the 10 meter air rifle mixed team event, and won a bronze medal. [11] She is being mentored by former National Champion Rakesh Manpat. [12] In the 2018 Commonwealth Games, Chandela won a bronze medal for India. She won the gold medal at the 2019 ISSF World Cup [13] in New Delhi and set a world record of 252.9 in the 10-metre air rifle event. [14] She has secured a gold medal in women's 10m air rifle at the (ISSF) World Cup 2019. [15] [16]
In ISSF World Cup 2019 in New Delhi, Chandela won the first medal for India by winning the gold medal with a record score in the women's 10m air rifle event. [17] The 28 years old set a new world record in the process with 252.9 points to bag her third individual World Cup medal. [17] The shooter, rose to the top of the table in the finals with her 17th shot and then followed it up with 10.8 in the 18th shot. [17] In the 2016 Swedish Cup Grand Prix, Chandela broke the world record for the second time in three years after her score of 211.2. [17]
Chandela also secured a quota spot to participate in the Tokyo Olympics in Women's 10 metre air rifle event, where she finished at 36th position in the qualification round out of 50 participants. In 2020, she won a gold medal at a private tournament in Meyton cop, Austria. [18]

Anjali Bhagwat is a professional Indian sport shooter. She became the World Number One in 10m Air Rifle in 2002. She also won her first World Cup Final in Milan, in 2003, with a score of 399/400.
Gagan Narang is an Indian sport shooter, supported by the Olympic Gold Quest. He won the bronze medal in the Men's 10 m Air Rifle Event at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London with a final score of 701.1 on 30 July 2012. He was also a member of prestigious Padma award committee 2023.
Master Chief Petty Officer Sanjeev Rajput is an Arjuna Awardee Indian sport shooter from Yamuna Nagar, Haryana. He was a retired Junior Commissioned Officer in Indian Navy.
Abhinav Apjit Bindra is an Indian Olympic gold medallist, retired sport shooter, and businessman. He is the first and one of only two Indians to win an Individual Olympic Gold Medal. He is the first Indian to have held concurrently the world and Olympic titles for the men's 10-meter air rifle event, having earned those honors at the 2008 Summer Olympics and the 2006 ISSF World Shooting Championships. Bindra has also won seven medals at the Commonwealth Games and three medals at the Asian Games.

Rahi Jeevan Sarnobat is a female athlete from India who competes in the 25 metre pistol shooting event. She won her first gold medal at the 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games in Pune, India. She is the first woman to win a gold medal in shooting at the Asian Games for India – she won the gold at the 2018 Jakarta Palembang Asian Games in the women's 25 metre pistol event. She has also won the silver medal in 2014 Summer Youth Olympics. She was named Sportsgirl of the Year for 2015 and Sportswoman of the Year for 2019.
Seonaid McIntosh is a British sports shooter who became the World Champion at the 2018 ISSF World Shooting Championships in the 50m Prone Rifle event. In 2019 she became Britain's most successful female rifle shooter of all time, winning five World Cup medals. She also became the first British Woman to rank World #1 for the 50m Rifle Three Position event and became European Champion in the 300m Rifle Prone event with an equal World Record score.
Mehuli Ghosh is an Indian sport shooter, supported by OGQ. She represents India at international junior shooting championships across the world. Among 123 competitors, she was the only Indian shooting athlete to reach the finals of the 2018 junior shooting competition held in the Czech Republic. She ranked seventh there. In 2018, at the XXI Commonwealth Games held at Gold Coast, Australia, she won a silver medal in Women's 10m Air Rifle after a shoot-off with Martina Veloso. As of September 2023, she was ranked 36th in the world and 14th in Asia.
Manu Bhaker is an Indian Olympian who competes at shooting, supported by OGQ. She represented India at the 2018 ISSF World Cup and won two gold medals. She is the youngest Indian to win a gold medal at the ISSF World Cup. Saurabh Chaudhary is an Indian sport shooter. He won the gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games in 10 m Air Pistol. He was the youngest Indian gold medalist at the Asian Games. He had earlier won gold medals and set a new junior world record in the ISSF Junior World Cup in Suhl, Germany. He is the only Indian shooter to win a gold medal in ISSF World Championship, ISSF World Cup, Youth Olympic Games, Asian Games and Asian Air Gun Championship. He broke his own world record with a score of 245.5 and claimed gold in Junior Men 10m Air Pistol at 2018 World Championship in Changwon, Korea.

Divyansh Singh Panwar is an Indian sport shooter, supported by OGQ. He won the silver medal in the 10 metre air rifle event at the 2019 ISSF World Cup in Beijing and secured a quota position for India at the 2020 Summer Olympics where he achieved rank 32 at the Men's 10 metre air rifle event.
Esha Singh is an Indian amateur shooter, supported by OGQ. She became the national champion in the 10m Air Pistol category in 2018. She clinched an Olympic quota berth in the 10m Air Pistol category for the Paris Olympic Games at the Asian Qualifier at Jakarta on 8 January 2024. She was also conferred the Arjun Award for 2023 but missed the event on 9 January 2024 due to the Asian qualifier.
