The men's individual compound archery competition at the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon was held from 23 to 27 September at Gyeyang Asiad Archery Field. [1]
A total of 55 archers participated in the qualification round after one pulled out. Only the top two archers from each country were allowed to progress to the knockout stage. [2] [3]

Archery at the 2008 Summer Paralympics consists of nine events, five for men and four for women. The competitions were held at the Olympic Green Archery Field from September 9 to September 15, 2008.
Brady Ellison is an American archer who competes in recurve archery. He is currently a Resident Athlete at the United States Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, California. He holds the record for the longest continuous period as the world number-one-ranked men's recurve archer, from August 2011 to April 2013. He earned his nickname "The Prospector" during the 2015 world championships due to his proclivity for 'finding gold'.

The Men's individual compound was one of the events held in archery at the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing. There were two classes: a class for W1 wheelchair competitors and an open class. In the ranking round each archer shot 72 arrows; in the knockout stages the tally was reduced to 12 arrows each.

Rajat Chauhan is an Indian archer. Chauhan won a silver medal in the World Archery Championships in Copenhagen, becoming the first Indian to win an individual medal in compound archery at the World Championships. He won the Gold Medal Asian Games 2014 in Incheon in the men's compound archery team event along with Abhishek Verma and Sandeep Kumar. In 2014 he also became the first Indian compound archer to qualify for the Archery World Cup final, and in 2015 reached the final of the 2015 World Archery Championships.
Sandeep Kumar is an Indian Archer. He won the gold medal at the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea in the men's compound archery team event along with Abhishek Verma and Rajat Chauhan. He had been honoured with the Arjuna award in the year 2015.
Trisha Deb is an Indian archer. She won the Bronze Medal at the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon in the women's individual compound archery event and in the women's team compound along with Purvasha Shende and Jyothi Surekha Vennam.
Purvasha Sudhir Shende is an Indian Archer. She won the Bronze Medal Asian Games 2014 in Incheon in the Women's team compound event along with Surekha Jyothi and Trisha Deb. She is a young budding archer the country has produced.
The women's individual recurve archery event at the 2014 Asian Games was held from 23 to 28 September at the Gyeyang Asiad Archery Field in Incheon, South Korea. It was the tenth time the event was held as part of the Asian Games sports programme since the debut of archery in 1978. A total of 56 archers from 18 nations qualified for the event. Yun Ok-hee of South Korea was the defending champion.
Abhishek Verma is an Indian archer. At the 2014 Asian Games at Incheon, South Korea, he won the gold medal in the men's compound archery team event along with Rajat Chauhan and Sandeep Kumar, and the silver medal in the men's individual compound event. On 15 August 2015, he won a gold medal in the compound men's individual section at the Archery World Cup Stage 3 in Wroclaw, Poland. On 25 October 2015, he won the silver medal in the compound men's individual section at the Archery World Cup Final in Mexico city.
Archery at the 2016 Summer Paralympics was held between 10 and 17 September 2016 at the Sambadrome Marquês de Sapucaí in the Maracana zone of Rio de Janeiro, and consisted of nine events. The make up of those events changed substantially from the 2012 games, and consisted of three men's events, three women's events and three events for mixed gender teams. Men, women and mixed teams each competed in two events for compound bow, one for wheelchair athletes, the other open, and an open event for recurve bow, the bow used for all Olympic events.
