Archery at the 2017 Games of the Small States of Europe was held in Montecchio Stadium in San Marino from 30 May to 2 June 2017. [1]

Archery is the art, sport, practice, or skill of using a bow to shoot arrows. The word comes from the Latin arcus. Historically, archery has been used for hunting and combat. In modern times, it is mainly a competitive sport and recreational activity. A person who participates in archery is typically called an archer or a bowman, and a person who is fond of or an expert at archery is sometimes called a toxophilite.

The 2017 Games of the Small States of Europe, also known as the XVII Games of the Small States of Europe, took place in San Marino from 29 May to 3 June 2017.

The World Archery Federation is the governing body of the sport of archery. It is based in Lausanne, Switzerland. It is composed of 156 national federations and other archery associations, and is recognised by the International Olympic Committee.

Nicola Jane "Nicky" Hunt is a British archer. She competes in compound archery and in 2010 reached 1st position in the FITA world rankings. In partnership with Nichola Simpson and Danielle Brown she helped the English team win the women's compound team event at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi then added the individual gold medal a day later. She has won rounds of the FITA Archery World Cup in 2009 (Porec) and 2010 (Shanghai). Hunt is a member of Deben Archery Club.

Archery at the 2011 Island Games was held from 27–30 June 2011 at the Newclose County Cricket Ground in the Isle of Wight, England.

Archery at the 2011 Pacific Games in Nouméa, New Caledonia was held on September 6–9, 2011.

The World Archery Rankings is a ranking system developed by the World Archery Federation for international competitive archery. It is calculated using a points system and published following major World Archery tournaments.

The 2011 Archery World Cup was the sixth edition of the annual Archery World Cup, organised by the World Archery Federation. The first leg was held on 2–7 May in Porec, Croatia, the second leg on 6–12 June at Antalya Centennial Archery Field in Antalya, Turkey and the third leg on 2–6 August in Ogden, Utah, United States. The final leg was held from 5–10 September in Shanghai.

2015 World Archery Championships sports event

The 2015 World Archery Championships was the 48th edition of the World Archery Championships. The event was held in Copenhagen, the capital city of Denmark from 26 July to 2 August 2015 and was organised by World Archery. Qualification and elimination rounds took place at the Sundby Idrætspark, with the medal matches on 1–2 August outside the Danish Parliament building Christiansborg Palace. The competition was preceded by the World Archery Congress on 24–25 July.

Abhishek Verma (archer)

Abhishek Verma is an Indian archer. At the 2014 Asian Games at Incheon, he won the gold medal in the men's compound archery team event along with Rajat Chauhan and Sandeep Kumar, and the silver medal in the men's individual compound event. On 15 August 2015, he won a gold medal in the compound men's individual section at the Archery World Cup Stage 3 in Wroclaw, Poland. On 25 October 2015, he won the silver medal in the compound men's individual section at the Archery World Cup Final in Mexico city.

Olena Borysenko is a Ukrainian athlete who competes in compound archery. She started archery in 2013 and first competed for the Ukrainian national team in 2014. She is righthanded. Her draw weight is 52 lbs. As well as competing internationally in archery, she is a student. Her hobbys are singing and sociology.

Archery at the 2015 ASEAN Para Games was held at Kallang Cricket Field, Singapore.

The 2017 Archery World Cup is the 12th edition of the Archery World Cup organised annually by the World Archery Federation. The World Cup finals will be held in Odense, Denmark on 24–25 September. The locations for the 4 preliminary stages were: The first leg in Shanghai, China from 16–21 May, the second leg on 6–11 June in Antalya, Turkey, the third leg on 20–25 June in Salt Lake City, U.S. and the final leg on 8–13 August in Berlin, Germany. The finals were held in Rome, Italy on 2–3 September.

Archery at the Pacific Games was first contested at the 1971 games at Papeete. It has also been included in the Pacific Mini Games, firstly at Norfolk Island in 2001 and then Port Vila in 2017.

The 2017 World Archery Championships was the 49th edition of the World Archery Championships. The event was held in Mexico City, the capital city of Mexico from 15 October to 22 October 2017 and was organised by World Archery. Qualification and elimination rounds took place at the Campo Marte. The competition was preceded by the World Archery Congress on 13–14 October.

Argentina participated at the 2017 Summer Universiade in Taipei, Taiwan with 178 competitors in 16 sports.

Archery at the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games

The archery competition at the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games was held in Barranquilla, Colombia from 29 July to 3 August at the Estadio Lulio González.

Archery competitions at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru are scheduled to be held between August 6th and 11th, 2019 at the Archery field in the Villa María del Triunfo cluster.

Ankita Bhakat is an Indian recurve archer who is currently ranked world number 51 by the World Archery Federation. She is a member of the Indian national recurve team and competes in international events in the women's individual, women's team and the mixed team recurve categories. She competed in the 2017 World Archery Youth Championships held at Rosario, Argentina and won the gold medal in the recurve junior mixed team event with partner Jemson Singh Ningthoujam.
