The triple jump, sometimes referred to as the hop, step and jump or the hop, skip and jump, is a track and field event, similar to long jump. As a group, the two events are referred to as the "horizontal jumps". The competitor runs down the track and performs a hop, a bound and then a jump into the sand pit. The triple jump was inspired by the ancient Olympic Games and has been a modern Olympics event since the Games' inception in 1896.
Teddy Tamgho is a French triple jumper and long jumper. He specialises in the triple jump. He is the former triple jump world indoor record holder, achieved in winning the final and gold medal at the 2011 European Indoor Championships. He is the world's sixth best ever triple jumper outdoors, with his best mark of 18.04 metres achieved in winning the final and gold medal at the 2013 World Championships.
Allan Smith is a multiple British champion and Team GB internationalist high jumper. He first came to the attention of the athletics world in 2011 when capturing all the Great Britain & Ireland Under 20 Men national indoor championship titles in a unique domestic athletics "grand-slam" that had never been done before. During that indoor season he also won the Welsh senior indoor title and set a Championship Best Performance in the Scottish Athletics Indoor League, placing him at the top of the UK junior men rankings for 2011.
Jazmin Sawyers is a British track and field athlete and sports presenter who competes in the long jump, representing Great Britain and England. In 2023, she won her first major senior title at the 2023 European Indoor Championships.
Lorraine Ugen is an English long jumper and occasional 100 m sprinter with respective personal bests of 7.05 m and 11.32 s. Ugen competed for Great Britain at the 2016 Olympics in Rio in the long jump, finishing in eleventh place.

Christopher O'Donnell is an Irish track and field athlete competing in sprinting events. He represented Ireland at the 2020 Summer Olympics in the Mixed 4 × 400 m relay where he was part of the first ever Irish team to run in an Olympic final, and was also part of the team who reached the final of the 2022 and 2023 World Championships. He is the current Irish U20 record holder in the 400 metres, with a time of 46.54, set on 22 July 2017 at the European U20 Championships, where he finished 6th in the final. His personal best of 45.26 seconds sits joint-2nd on the Irish all-time list and he is the current and 5-time National 400m champion.

She represented Great Britain in the triple jump at the 2018 and 2022 European Athletics Championships, the 2019 European Athletics Indoor Championships and the 2022 World Athletics Championships. She also represented England in the triple jump at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, winning a Bronze medal in a new personal best of 14.37m.
