The Arena Naucalpan 41st Anniversary Show (Spanish : 41. Aniversario Arena Naucalpan), also billed as Guerra de Familias was a professional wrestling supercard event scripted and produced by Mexican professional wrestling promotion International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG). The show took place on December 21, 2018 in Arena Naucalpan, Naucalpan, State of Mexico, Mexico. The show celebrated the 41st Anniversary of the construction of Arena Naucalpan, IWRG's main venue where they hold the majority of their shows.

Contents

The main event was originally scheduled to be L.A. Park against Penta 0M as result of IWRG's Triangular en Jaula , but instead if featured the Guerra de Familiars, or "Family War" between the father/son teams of L.A. Park/El Hijo de L.A. Park and Dr. Wagner Jr./El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. with the Parks winning the match. In the semi-main event Máscara Año 2000 Jr. defeated Mr. Electro to win the IWRG Intercontinental Heavyweight Championship. As part of the show Dragón Bane successfully defended the WRG Rey del Aire Championship and Imposible defended the IWRG Intercontinental Middleweight Championship. The show featured three additional matches.

Production

Background

Promoter Adolfo Moreno had promoted Lucha Libre , or professional wrestling in Naucalpan, State of Mexico, Mexico prior to financing the building of Arena Naucalpan that opened in late 1976. Originally Moreno worked together with the Universal Wrestling Association (UWA) and then later Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) as a local promoter. On January 1, 1996 Moreno created International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG) as an independent promotion. [2] IWRG celebrates the anniversary of Arena Naucalpan each year in December with a major show, making it the second oldest, still promoted show series in the world. pre-dating WrestleMania by eight years. [2] Only the CMLL Anniversary Show series has a longer history. [2] [3] The 2017 Arena Naucalpan anniversary show marked the 40th Anniversary of Arena Naucalpan. The Anniversary shows, as well as the majority of the IWRG shows in general are held in Arena Naucalpan.

Storylines

The Arena Naucalpan 41st Anniversary Show featured a total of seven professional wrestling matches with different wrestlers involved in pre-existing scripted feuds, plots and storylines. Wrestlers portrayed themselves as either heels (referred to as rudos in Mexico, those that portray the "bad guys") or faces (técnicos in Mexico, the "good guy" characters) as they followed a series of tension-building events, which culminated in a wrestling match or series of matches.

The original main event of the 41st Anniversary Show was originally determined at IWRG's Triangular en Jaula show long-time rivals Rush, Penta 0M and L.A. Park wrestled each other in a steel cage match. The stipulation of the cage was that, the first to escape the cage would not have to return a month later to compete in the main event of the Arena Naucalpan 41st Anniversary Show. RUsh left the cage first, which meant the main event was set as L.A. Park facing Penta 0M. [4] [5] When the full card for the 41st anniversary show Penta Om was not listed instead LA.. Park and his son, El Hijo de L.A. Park, would face his long time rival Rey Wagner and Wagner's son El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. [1]

Event

After the Parks defeated the Wagners in the main event, El Galeno del Mal ("The Bad Doctor") appeared and helped the Wagners beat up L.A. Park and his son. Afterwards El Galeno del Mal was introduced to the audience as the half brother of El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., son of Rey Wagner's ex-wife Rossy Moreno. [1]

The Arena Naucalpan 35th Anniversary Show was an annual professional wrestling major event produced by Mexican professional wrestling promotion International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG), which took place on December 20, 2012 in Arena Naucalpan, Naucalpan, State of Mexico, Mexico. The show celebrated the 35th Anniversary of the construction of Arena Naucalpann, IWRG's main venue. The main event was a five team steel cage match contested under elimination rules. The undercard also saw the continuation of the storyline feud between Fuerza Guerrera and Black Terry as well as a Torneo cibernetico elimination match between a team representing IWRG's wrestling school and a team representing Fuerza Guerrera's school Gimnasio Konkreto.

El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. is a Mexican luchador enmascarado, or masked professional wrestler, currently working Major League Wrestling (MLW) in the United States, Pro Wrestling Noah in Japan, and also on the Mexican Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide and the Independent circuit, including International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG) portraying a tecnico wrestling character. El Hijo de Dr. Wagner's real name is not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico where their private lives are kept a secret from the wrestling fans. He is the grandson of Dr. Wagner and the son of Dr. Wagner Jr. His mother is professional wrestler Rossy Moreno and he is part of both the Wagner and the Moreno wrestling families.

Guerra del Golfo (2011) was an annual professional wrestling major event produced by Mexican professional wrestling promotion International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG), which took place on April 13, 2011 in Arena Naucalpan, Naucalpan, State of Mexico, Mexico. It was the fifth time IWRG had held a Guerra del Golfo event since 2002, making it an annual event from 2005 and forward. The annual Guerra del Golfo main event consists of three matches in total, with two "qualifying matches", multi-man steel cage matches where the last person left in the cage advances to the main event of the night. The two losers would then be forced to wrestle inside the steel cage, with the loser of that match being forced to either take off their wrestling mask or have their hair shaved off under Lucha de Apuestas, or "Bet match" rules, if they are unmasked.

IWRG Guerra del Golfo International Wrestling Revolution Group event series

Guerra del Golfo is both the name of a major show series promoted by the Mexican Lucha Libre, or professional wrestling promotion International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG) as well as the name of the tournament match that is the focal point of the show. The tournament consists of two first-round steel cage matches where the last person in the cage advances to the final match of the night. In the finals the two losers face off in a cage match where the loser of that match is either unmasked or forced to have their hair shaved off under Luchas de Apuestas rules. There have been a total of 10 shows since the first show in 2005. So far three wrestlers have lost their masks and seven have been shaved bald.

The focus of the show is paying homage to the history and "legends" of lucha libre each year. The focal point of the show and the inspiration for the event name was the main event steel cage match, an inter-gender match that saw both female wrestlers and male Exótico compete against each other. The cage match was contested under Luchas de Apuestas, or "bet match", rules where the last wrestler in the cage would be deemed the loser, losing either their wrestling mask or their hair if they were already unmasked.

The Cinco Luchas en Jaula was a professional wrestling supercard produced and scripted by the Mexican International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG) professional wrestling promotion that took take place on January 1, 2020. The show will be held in Arena Naucalpan, Naucalpan, State of Mexico, IWRG's primary venue and will also double as the IWRG 24th Anniversary Show, commemorating the anniversary of IWRG, which was founded on January 1, 1996.
