The IWRG Intercontinental Heavyweight Championship (Campeon Intercontinental Peso Completo IWRG in Spanish) is a singles Championship in the Mexican lucha libre (Professional wrestling) promotion International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG) and was introduced in 1997. It has since been defended throughout Mexico, primarily in Naucalpan, but also in Japan as well. [1] As the Championship is designated as a heavyweight title, it can only officially be competed for by wrestlers weighing at least 105 kg (231 lb). [2]

The current champion is DMT Azul, who defeated Galeno del Mal for the championship on November 2, 2023. The first holder of the IWRG Intercontinental Heavyweight Championship was Pierroth Jr. who won the title on September 28, 1997 defeating Black Magic in the finals of an eight-man tournament. [1] There have been eighteen recognized champions, combining for twenty-five total reigns. Máscara Año 2000 Jr. and Scorpio Jr. are tied for most championship reigns, with four each. El Canek holds the record for the longest individual reign 1,444 days (from May 5, 2006 to April 18, 2010, although his reign had a long period of inactivity). Valletta's first reign lasted 11 days, the shortest of any champion. Scorpio Jr.'s four reigns combined to at least 4,987 days, almost quadrupling El Canek.

As it is a professional wrestling championship, the championship was not won not by actual competition, but by a scripted ending to a match determined by the bookers and match makers. [lower-alpha 1] On occasion the promotion declares a championship vacant, which means there is no champion at that point in time. This can either be due to a storyline, [lower-alpha 2] or real life issues such as a champion suffering an injury being unable to defend the championship, [lower-alpha 3] or leaving the company. Ángel Omar Reyes Franco is a Mexican luchador or professional wrestler, better known as Máscara Año 2000 Jr. He is working for Lucha Libre AAA World Wide (AAA), and International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG). Máscara Año 2000 Jr. originally worked under a mask and his real name was not a matter of public record, until he lost his mask in a match in August 2012. Guillermo Rodríguez Chucuan is a Mexican luchador enmascarado, or masked professional wrestler currently working for the Mexican professional wrestling promotion International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG) portraying a tecnico wrestling character. He is best known under his current ring name El Hijo de Dos Caras, Spanish for "The son of Two Face", a reference to the fact that Rodríguez is the son of luchador José Luis Rodríguez, better known as Dos Caras. The IWRG Junior de Juniors Championship is a professional wrestling championship promoted by the Mexican lucha libre promotion International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG) since February 2011. The championship is only for second or third generation wrestlers, with IWRG also accepting storyline relationships like Hijo de Máscara Año 2000 who is not actually related to Máscara Año 2000 but is paying for the use of the name. IWRG never revealed how Oficial Factor qualified as a second generation wrestler.

The anniversary shows are often, but not always main evented by a Lucha de Apuestas, or "bet match", where a wrestler will put his wrestling mask or hair on the line.

Prisión Fatal was a professional wrestling major event, produced by the Mexico based International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG) professional wrestling promotion. The event took on July 23, 2017, at "Arena Naucalpan" in Naucalpan, State of Mexico, IWRG's main venue and was the fourth show promoted under that name. The main event was the eponymous Prisión Fatal Steel cage match where the last person remaining in the cage was forced to unmasked or shaved bald as per the match stipulation.
