Argo is an unincorporated community in northwest Crawford County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. [1] The community is on a ridge northwest of the Little Bourbeuse River. The site is located on Missouri Route C about five miles northwest of Bourbon and Interstate 44. [2]
A post office called Argo was established in 1849, and discontinued in 1906. [3] The community most likely was named after the mythological ship Argo . [4]
In 1925, Argo had 24 inhabitants. [5]
Akers is an unincorporated community in northwestern Shannon County, Missouri, United States. It is located approximately eighteen miles northwest of Eminence in the Ozark National Scenic Riverways. Akers houses a campground and access to the Current River. Since there is no bridge within the community, there is a small ferry that allows vehicles traveling on Highway K to cross the Current River.
