Arkaea was a metal band formed in 2008 featuring members from Fear Factory and Threat Signal.

History

The band was formed by Raymond Herrera (drums) and Christian Olde Wolbers (guitar), who had just left Fear Factory. They recorded a demo, sent it to Threat Signal vocalist Jon Howard and Arkaea was spawned. They tried to persuade Sam Rivers for bass, but he declined due to location. [2] Ryan Martinie of Mudvayne offered his services but could not tour due to Mudvayne commitments. [2] Finally, another Threat Signal member, Pat Kavanagh, joined on bass.

Their debut album was 13 tracks, most of which were originally intended for a new Fear Factory album. Years in the Darkness was released on July 14, 2009. [3] A five-minute sampler was released, the band posted the opening track "Locust" on their Myspace page and a video was released for "Gone Tomorrow". [4] It sold 980 copies in its first week, but was not particularly well received by critics. [5] [6] [7] [8] [9]

Beginning in January 2009, Arkaea toured heavily through the US and into Europe, continuing to tour through November 2010. [10] [11] In July 2009, they played Germany's heavy metal festival Wacken Open Air. [12]

Despite releasing a short pre-production demo in 2012 and promising a new album later that year, the band has not been publicly active since. In 2011, Olde Wolbers moved on to the band Beowülf; Herrera on to entrepreneurial ventures. In December 2019, Wolbers noted in an Instagram post that he had started working on a new Arkaea album, but also noted that Herrera would be "too busy" to contribute. [13]

Throughout the band's career, they have released ten full-length albums and have evolved through a succession of sounds, all in their main style of industrial metal. Over the years, Fear Factory has seen frequent changes in its lineup, with lead vocalist Burton C. Bell being the only consistent member for 31 years until his departure in 2020. Guitarist Dino Cazares is the only original member still in the band. Despite this, Fear Factory has since released three more albums: The Industrialist (2012), Genexus (2015) and Aggression Continuum (2021).

Known for their sonic experimentation, face and body paint, masks and uniforms, the band has sold over six million records worldwide, including nearly three million in the United States. The group consists of guitarist Greg Tribbett, drummer Matthew McDonough, lead vocalist Chad Gray, and bassist Ryan Martinie. The album was released as an enhanced CD with access to the exclusive Fear Factory website. Our Last Enemy is an Australian industrial metal band. The band was formed in 2006 by Oliver Fogwell, Jeff Ritchie and Matt Heywood. The band would go through several guitarists and keyboardists from 2007 before being joined by Bizz and Zot on guitars and drums respectively.

Mechanize Tour, also named Fear Campaign Tour or Industrial Discipline Tour was a concert tour headlined by American industrial metal band Fear Factory, in support of their 7th studio album, Mechanize.

The Kings of the Road Tour was a tour performed by the heavy metal band Motörhead in support of their album, The Wörld Is Yours.
