Soft Cell are an English synth-pop duo who came to prominence in the early 1980s. The duo consists of vocalist Marc Almond and instrumentalist David Ball. The band are primarily known for their 1981 hit version of "Tainted Love" and their platinum-selling debut album Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret.

Frances the Mute is the second studio album by American progressive rock band The Mars Volta released in February 2005 on Gold Standard Laboratories and Universal. Produced by guitarist and songwriter Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, the album incorporates dub, ambient, Latin and jazz influences, and is the first to feature bassist Juan Alderete and percussionist Marcel Rodriguez-Lopez. The album also includes contributions from future saxophonist Adrián Terrazas-González, who joined the band during its subsequent tour.
Paris is a live album by the English rock band Supertramp, released in 1980. It was recorded on Supertramp's Breakfast in America tour in Paris, France, with most of the tracks taken from a 29 November 1979 show at the Pavillon de Paris, a venue which was once a slaughterhouse. The album was originally going to be called Roadworks. Paris reached number 8 on the Billboard 200 in late 1980 and went Gold immediately, while the live version of "Dreamer" hit the US Top 20.
Mutemath is an American alternative rock project founded by American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and record producer Paul Meany. Originally co-founded as a band with Darren King in 2002, Meany decided to continue Mutemath as a solo project following King's departure in 2017. Mutemath draws heavily from influences in 1960s and 1970s soul, psychedelic rock, and jam band styles, utilizing vintage guitars and amplifiers as well as Rhodes keyboards, synthesizers, and other electronic instruments such as the keytar.
Paul Meany is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, music director and record producer. He is best known for co-producing and collaborating with much of Twenty One Pilots' recent work. He has also done production for Pierce the Veil and Yungblud. Outside of production, he is most notable for being the lead singer and keyboardist for the alternative rock project Mutemath, of which he is the sole member since 2017.
Sascha Ring, better known by the stage name Apparat, is a German electronic musician. He was previously co-owner of Shitkatapult records. Starting out with dancefloor-oriented techno, he shifted focus towards ambient music, becoming "more interested in designing sounds than beats".
Martyn Paul Casey is an English-born Australian rock bass guitarist. He has been a member of the Triffids, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds and Grinderman. Casey plays either his Fender Precision Bass or Fender Jazz Bass.
Toenut, latterly known as Tyro, was an American alternative rock band of the 1990s, based in Atlanta and signed to the Mute Records label. The band released three records, the last under the name "Tyro", and toured the US and UK between 1995 and 2000.
Mutemath is the first full-length album by Mutemath, independently released by Teleprompt. The album was initially packaged in a jewel case and was sold exclusively at concert dates on their 2006 album tour. The release date was January 19, the first date of the tour.
Live at the El Rey was a limited edition live album recorded by New Orleans electro-rock band Mutemath. The album was recorded live at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles on the Album Release Tour in January 2006 and features a selection of six songs from the actual set performed on the Album Release Tour. Video of the performances was also recorded and used for promotional materials on various online media outlets including AOL Music and was included in the UK physical release of the single "Typical". Only 25,000 copies of the EP were printed and sold as part of an exclusive limited edition version of the group's self-titled debut album Mutemath when it was re-released in the US on Warner Bros. Records on September 26, 2006. International releases also include the EP, but the number of copies printed is unknown. It is also available on iTunes as bonus tracks for the "deluxe" version of the self-titled album "MuteMath"

The song is featured as downloadable content for the Rock Band series of video games, was part of the soundtrack for the 2006 video game ATV Offroad Fury 4, and was featured in the 2009 film The Stepfather.
