Pierre Fritz Lueders is a Canadian Olympic, world and World Cup champion bobsledder who competed from 1990 to 2010. He piloted both two-man and four-man bobsleigh, retiring after the 2010 Winter Olympics. He was named to Canada's Sports Hall of Fame in 2012.
André Lange is a retired German bobsledder and one of the most successful bob pilots of all time. Competing at the 2002, 2006 and 2010 Winter Olympics, he has won four gold and one silver medals. Lange originally started his sledding career as a luger, taking up bobsleigh in 1993.
The Jamaica national bobsleigh team represents Jamaica in international bobsleighing competitions. The men's team debut in the 1988 Winter Olympic Games four-man bobsleigh in Calgary, Alberta, was received as underdogs in a cold weather sport represented by a nation with a tropical environment. Jamaica returned to the Winter Olympics in the two-man bobsleigh in 1992, 1994, 1998, 2002, 2014, and 2022; a women's team debuted in 2018.
César González is a Dutch bobsledder born in the Dominican Republic. Gonzáles started with international bobsleigh competitions in the 2002-03 season. In January 2006 he qualified himself in the team of Arend Glas that several weeks earlier qualified for the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin. At the qualification play-off held in Oberhof, Germany he ended up in fourth position behind his opponents, resulting in qualification, but as a reserve bobsledder in case any of the other members faced an injury. Eventually he did not come in action during the Olympics, but he saw his team mates ending up at the 16th position.
Sybren Jansma is a Dutch bobsledder. Jansma started with international bobsleigh competitions in the 2002 and was not yet part of Arend Glas's team that participated at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. However, Jansma developed himself to become Glas's main compatriot in the years to follow in both the 2-bob as the 4-bob. In January 2006 Jansma qualified himself in the team of that several weeks earlier secured its qualification for the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin. At the qualification play-off held in Oberhof, Germany, he ended up in first position claiming his seat in both possible bobs. Together with Glas he became 19th after four runs in the 2-bob, while with Glas, Vincent Kortbeek and Arno Klaassen the 16th position was reached.
Vincent Kortbeek is a Dutch bobsledder. Kortbeek started with international bobsleigh competitions in 2003 and therefore was not yet part of Arend Glas's team that participated at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. However, from 2003 on his skills improved fast and he became a regular member of the 4-bob. In January 2006 Kortbeek qualified himself in the team of that several weeks earlier secured its qualification for the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin. At the qualification play-off held in Oberhof, Germany he ended up in third position (behind Sybren Jansma and Arno Klaassen claiming his seat in the bob. Together with Glas, Jansma and Klaassen he became 16th. His brother Thomas Kortbeek is an athlete.
Meinhard Nehmer is a former East German bobsledder who competed from the mid-1970s to the early 1980s. Competing in two Winter Olympics, he won four medals with three golds and one bronze. Nehmer also carried the East German flag during the opening ceremonies of the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck.
Wolfgang Hoppe is a former East German decathlete, bob pilot and 36-time international medal winner who competed from the early 1980s to the late 1990s. Competing in four Winter Olympics, he won six medals with two golds, three silvers, and one bronze (1994).
Todd Dennys Hays is a former American bobsledder who competed from 1994 to 2006. Competing in two Winter Olympics, he won the silver medal in the four-man event at Salt Lake City in 2002, breaking a 46-year medal drought for the US national bobsleigh team.
Raimund Bethge is an East German bobsledder who competed in the late 1970s. He took up the sport in 1975. He won a complete set of medals at the FIBT World Championships with a gold in four-man (1977), a silver in two-man (1978, and a bronze in four-man. He also took a silver in the European Championships in 1978 in the four-man event. Bethge also competed at the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck, finishing fourth in the four-man event and seventh in the two-man event.
Curtis "Curt" Tomasevicz is an American bobsledder who has competed since 2004, and a former college football player. He won six medals at the FIBT World Championships with two golds, a silver and three bronzes.
Aoife Hoey is an Irish bobsledder who has competed since 2004. She finished 22nd out of 23 in the two-woman event at the 2005 FIBT World Championships in Calgary. At 6 ft 4 in (1.93 m), she was the tallest woman at the 2010 Winter Olympics.
Slaven Krajačić is a Croatian sportsperson. He started his career as a sprinter specializing in the 100 metres, and competed at the 2000 Olympic Games. Since 2003, he has competed as a bobsledder, competing in two Winter Olympics, earning his best finish of 20th in the four-man event at Vancouver in 2010.
Vuk Radjenovic is a Germany-resident Serbian bobsledder who has competed since 2001. His best World Cup finish was 11th in a four-men event at Igls in 2013, considered a remarkable performance due to financial struggles of his national federation. Vuk and the Serbian Bobsleigh Team became known as people that "create a lot with nothing". His best two-man World Cup result is 18th in Igls in 2012. Rađenović finished 2012/13 World Cup season in 26th place of Men's Four-Man with 352. He was selected to compete at the 2010 Winter Olympics in the four-man event where he finished 18th. His best world cup results are 2010: 2man in Lake Placid, NY, USA, 16th place; and 2012: 2man in St Moritz Switzerland, 18th place.
The Belgian national bobsleigh team represents Belgium in international bobsledding competitions. Belgium first gained fame in bobsleighing during their debut at the first Winter Olympics in Chamonix in 1924, where a Belgian four-man bob acquired the bronze medal. The second and last Belgian bobsleigh medal at the Winter Olympics so far, also won during a four-man event, was a silver in St. Moritz in 1948.

Ivo Ferriani is an Italian sports official and bobsledder. In September 2010, he was elected president of the Fédération Internationale de Bobsleigh et de Tobogganing (FIBT), ending the 16-year presidency of Canada's Robert H. Storey. In 2016, Ferriani became a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
Faauuga Tia Muagututia is a former United States Navy SEAL and Winter Olympic competitor for American Samoa in the bobsleigh.
Germany competed at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, from 9 to 25 February 2018, with 153 competitors in 14 sports. They won 31 medals in total, 14 gold, 10 silver and 7 bronze, ranking second in the medal table after Norway at the 2018 Winter Olympics. Germany excelled in ice track events, biathlon, Nordic combined and Ski jumping. The men's ice hockey team took a silver medal, having lost a closely contested final to Olympic Athletes from Russia.
Adam Jeremy "A. J." Edelman is an American-born Israeli sliding sports athlete. He is an eight-time Israeli National Champion in sliding sport who competed for Israel at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea. Edelman is the first Orthodox Jew to compete in the Winter Olympics, and the first Orthodox Jewish man to compete in either Olympic iteration. In 2023, Edelman became the first ever Israeli to take a podium in a sanctioned Bobsled race and in March, 2024 became the first Israeli to secure the overall podium on the North American Cup. Edelman is training for the 2026 Olympic Games.
