The 27th Art Directors Guild Excellence in Production Design Awards, honoring the best production designers in film, television and media of 2022, was held on February 18, 2023, at the InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles, California. [1] [2] [3] The nominations were announced on January 9, 2023. [4] Yvette Nicole Brown hosted the ceremony for the second consecutive year. [3]

Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities is a horror anthology streaming television series created by Guillermo del Toro for Netflix. It features eight modern horror stories in the traditions of the Gothic and Grand Guignol genres. Two are co-written by del Toro himself, while the others are written and directed by various filmmakers. It premiered on October 25, 2022, and received generally positive reviews.

Marcel the Shell with Shoes On is a 2021 American independent live-action/stop-motion animated mockumentary comedy-drama film directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, with a screenplay by Fleischer Camp, Jenny Slate and Nick Paley from a story by Fleischer Camp, Slate, Paley and Elisabeth Holm. It is based on and serves both as a direct stand-alone sequel and prequel to the series of shorts of the same name written by Slate and Fleischer Camp. Slate reprises her voice role as Marcel, an anthropomorphic seashell. Fleischer Camp, Rosa Salazar, Thomas Mann, Lesley Stahl, and Isabella Rossellini also star. The film follows Marcel, a shell who lives with his grandmother, Connie, after posting a short film online bringing Marcel millions of passionate fans and a new hope of reuniting with his long-lost family.

Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio is the soundtrack album to the 2022 stop-motion animated musical dark fantasy film of the same name. Based on the 1883 Italian novel The Adventures of Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi, and Gris Grimly's design from his 2002 edition of the novel, the film, directed by Guillermo del Toro and Mark Gustafson, stars Ewan McGregor, David Bradley, Gregory Mann, Burn Gorman, John Turturro, Ron Perlman, Finn Wolfhard, Cate Blanchett, Tim Blake Nelson, Christoph Waltz, and Tilda Swinton. The score is composed by Alexandre Desplat in his second collaboration with del Toro after The Shape of Water (2017). The album featuring the original score and songs were set for release digitally on December 9, 2022 and in physical formats on December 16 by Columbia Records.

The 25th Costume Designers Guild Awards, honoring excellence in film, television, and short form costume design for 2022, were held on February 27, 2023, at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles. The nominees were announced on January 12, 2023. The ceremony was hosted by Tituss Burgess. Special honors were awarded to Angela Bassett, Bette Midler, and costume designers Deborah L. Scott and Rachael M. Stanley.
