Arunachal Cricket Association is the governing body of the Cricket activities in the Arunachal Pradesh state of India and the Arunachal Pradesh cricket team. It is affiliated to the Board of Control for Cricket in India as full member. [1] [2]

History

In September 2007, Arunachal Cricket Association applied for BCCI's affiliation. [3] In October 2008, it got the BCCi's affiliation. [4] The Arunachal Pradesh cricket team played its first domestic match in December 2009 in Under-19 tournament. The teams faced infrastructure issues during its inception. [3]

In August 2010, the association faced corruption allegations regarding buying of land. [5] After Lodha Panel ordered "One state, one vote" reforms, north east states were expected to get play in the 2017–18 senior domestic season but BCCI ignored the reforms order. [6] [7] After long legal battle, in July 2018, BCCI granted the association full member status and the team made its senior-level debut in 2018–19 season. [8] In its debut season, the association received bribe offers for player selection. [9] In September 2019, as per the reforms, its elections were held and TC Tok was elected as the association's president. [10]

The 2018–19 Indian cricket season was the 126th cricket season since the commencement of first-class cricket in India. The international cricket season started early in June 2018 with Afghanistan playing its home matches against Bangladesh. Afghanistan went on to win the T20I series 3–0. The Indian national team started its season hosting Afghanistan for the latter's Test cricket debut. India won the match in two days by an innings and 262 runs. West Indies toured India and lost the Test series 0–2, ODI series 1–3 and the T20I series 0–3. Australia toured India and won the T20I series 2–0 and ODI series 3–2. India also played host to Afghanistan's home games against Ireland. Afghanistan won the T20I series 3–0 and Test series 1–0. The ODI series was drawn 2–2. England women's toured India and lost the WODI series 1–2 but won the WT20I series 3–0.

Techi Neri is an Indian cricketer who represents Arunachal Pradesh in domestic cricket. He made his List A debut for Arunachal Pradesh in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy on 19 September 2018. He made his first-class debut for Arunachal Pradesh in the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy on 28 November 2018. In August 2022, he was named in the North East Zone's team for the 2022-23 Duleep Trophy.

The 2019–20 Indian cricket season is the ongoing and 126th cricket season since the commencement of first-class cricket in India. The international cricket season started in September 2019 with South Africa's tour of India. The T20I series between the nations was drawn 1−1 while India clean swept the test series 3−0. India is currently hosting Bangladesh. India won the T20I series 2−1. India will play 2-match test series against Bangladesh which will include the first day/night test match to be played by either side. India will also host tours from West Indies, Sri Lanka and Australia. India will also host home games for Afghanistan which include tours from West Indies and Ireland. South African women toured India. India won the WT20I series 3–1 and WODI series 3–0. Originally, Zimbabwe were scheduled to tour India in January 2020. However, in September 2019, India cancelled the Zimbabwe series following the ICC's suspension of Zimbabwe Cricket, with Sri Lanka replacing them.

The 2021–22 Ranji Trophy was the 87th season of the Ranji Trophy, the premier first-class cricket tournament in India. It was contested by 38 teams, divided into eight elite groups, with six teams in Plate group. All the Plate Group league matches took place in Kolkata. The tournament was announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on 3 July 2021.

The Arunachal Pradesh women's cricket team is a women's cricket team that represents the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. They were formed in 2012, and have competed in the Indian women's domestic system since the 2018–19 season, in the Women's Senior One Day Trophy and the Women's Senior T20 Trophy.

The 2022–23 Ranji Trophy was the 88th season of the Ranji Trophy, the premier first-class cricket tournament in India. It was played from 13 December 2022 and was finished on 19 February 2023. Madhya Pradesh were the defending champions, winning their first Ranji Trophy title previous season.

The North East Zone women's cricket team is a women's cricket team that represents north east India in the Women's Senior Inter Zonal One Day and Senior Women's Inter Zonal T20. It is a composite team of players from six teams from north east India: Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Sikkim. They were formed in 2022 to compete in the inaugural Women's Inter Zonal T20 competition.

North East Zone cricket team is a cricket team that plays first-class and List A cricket in the Duleep Trophy and Deodhar Trophy. The team is geographically based in Northeast India. They are currently being captained by Hokaito Zhimomi. It is a composite team of players from six teams from north east India: Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Sikkim.
