Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is the national governing body of cricket in India. Its headquarters is situated at the cricket centre in Churchgate, Mumbai. The BCCI is the wealthiest governing body of cricket in the world.
The India women's national cricket team, also known as Women in Blue, represents India in women's international cricket. Jaydev Niranjan Shah is an Indian former cricketer. Jaydev is the son of Niranjan Shah, ex-secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, and represented Saurashtra cricket team in India's domestic circuit. He has the distinction of captaining Saurashtra to victory in the 2007-08 Vijay Hazare Trophy, the team's first ever national-level title. He was recruited by the Rajasthan Royals for the Indian Premier League 2008 edition, but never played, and has also represented Rajasthan Cricket Association President's XI in the past.
Jaydev Dipakbhai Unadkat is an Indian professional cricketer who has played for the Indian national team. He plays for Saurashtra in domestic cricket. He represented India in the Under-19 Cricket World Cup in 2010. In March 2020, Unadkat became the first man to captain Saurashtra to the Ranji Trophy title.In December 2022, Unadkat returned in the Test XI after 12 years.
Niranjan Shah Stadium, also known as the Khandheri Cricket Stadium, is a cricket stadium in Rajkot, India. It is Gujarat's first solar-powered stadium.
Niranjan Shah is a former Indian first-class cricketer, businessman and cricket administrator. During his playing career, Shah played for Saurashtra from 1965/66 to 1974/75. He currently serves as the honorary secretary of the Saurashtra Cricket Association.

Ravinder Chadha is an Indian former first-class cricketer and doctor. He captained Haryana in 83 Ranji Trophy matches, a tournament record till 2015 when it was bettered by Jaydev Shah. Chadha also served as a physiotherapist for the Indian team.

Vidarbha were the defending champions. The final took place between Vidarbha and Saurashtra, starting on 3 February 2019. The Indian cricket team toured Bangladesh to play two Tests and three One Day Internationals (ODIs) in December 2022. The Test series formed part of the 2021–2023 ICC World Test Championship. On 20 October 2022 Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed the fixture. However, on 23 November, the venue of the third ODI was shifted from Mirpur to Chittagong due to political reasons.

The tournament formed part of the 2021–22 Indian domestic cricket season, which was announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in July 2021.
The 2022–23 Ranji Trophy was the 88th season of the Ranji Trophy, the premier first-class cricket tournament in India. It was played from 13 December 2022 and was finished on 19 February 2023. Madhya Pradesh were the defending champions, winning their first Ranji Trophy title previous season.
