The I-League 3 is a men's professional football league in India. It forms the fourth tier of the Indian football league system, below the I-League 2 and above the State leagues. [2] [3]

History

For the first time, the AIFF introduced qualifiers for the I-League 2 in the 2022–23 season. [4] On 13 June 2023, the AIFF league committee announced introducing a new league below the I-League 2, where champions of State leagues and nominated clubs will play. State FAs have to nominate a team before July 31. [5] The AIFF wants to create a competitive pyramid with a concrete progression pathway, aimed to allow even the smallest of clubs to get promoted to the higher divisions.

The 2021 I-League Qualifiers or Hero I-League Qualifiers 2021 was the 14th season of I-League 2nd Division since its establishment in 2008. The league winner secured place in 2021–22 I-League season.

2022–23 Hero I-League 2nd Division was the 15th season of the I-League 2nd Division since its establishment in 2008. This was the first season of I-League 2nd Division since rebranding as the third tier of Indian football league system. The league's group stage has been played from March to May 2023, parallel to the remaining part of both I-League and Indian Super League seasons. The top two teams on the league table, Delhi and Shillong Lajong, secured a place in the 2023–24 I-League season.

The 2023–24 Indian Women's League 2 is the first season of the Indian Women's League 2, the second tier women's football league in India.

2023–24 I-League 3 was the 1st season of the I-League 3 since its establishment in 2023. It was also the 1st season as the national fourth tier of the Indian football league system. The top three teams on the league table qualified for 2023–24 I-League 2.
