The Mizoram Premier League (also known as LZ JUICE Mizoram Premier League [1] for sponsorship ties) is the highest state-level football league in Mizoram, India. [2] [3] [4] On a national scale, it is the 5th tier of Indian football league system. [5] The competition is conducted by the Mizoram Football Association, the official football body of Mizoram, [2] with Tetea Hmar as its secretary and key promoter. [6] [7] The league started on 24 October 2012 for the first time. [8]

Mizoram Premier League has eight clubs. [9] The four top clubs qualify for the MPL automatically [10] While the other 4 teams will be decided via a playoff . [10] The top 4 teams from the play-off shall qualify for the MPL [10] The 8 clubs playing for season 11 of MPL are Ramhlun Athletic FC, Mizoram Police, Aizawl FC, Chanmari FC, Chawnpui FC, SYS FC, Sihphir Venghlun and FC Bethlehem. [11]
The main venues of the league are Rajiv Gandhi Stadium (Aizawl) [12] and Lammual. [13]
On 14 June 2012 it was announced that the Mizoram Football Association had signed a five-year ₹ 1.25 crore deal with ZONET Cable TV Pvt. Ltd. [2] [14] The deal was signed by Mizoram Football Association president Lal Thanzara, while Zonet Cable TV Director R.K. Lianzuala (of Bethlehem Veng) signed for Zonet. [2] The deal between the MFA and Zonet is one of the most lucrative sports deals in the North East of India. [2] In 2017 it was announced the channel signed another 5 year extension with Mizoram Football Association Worth 1.5 Crores. [15] Mizoram Premier League (MPL) season 8 has been delivered to SONY by Zonet Cable TV and streamed live on SonyLIV. MPL is the first state league to be televised on a national television platform. Aizawl Football Club is an Indian professional football club based in Aizawl, Mizoram. The club competes in the I-League, the second tier of Indian football league system. Founded in 1984, Aizawl earned entry in I-League in 2015–16 season, after winning the 2015 I-League 2.
Rajiv Gandhi Stadium is an athletic stadium in Mualpui, Salem Veng, Aizawl, Mizoram, India. It is used mainly for football and athletics. This stadium is named after Rajiv Gandhi, 6th Prime Minister of India and currently it is the home stadium of I-League side Aizawl FC. The stadium is also used by clubs of the Mizoram Premier League.

Mizoram football enthusiasts started Aizawl Sport Association in 1945. After 1972, the name was changed to Mizoram Sports Association. In 1973 under the guidance of Shri Lal Thanhawla, football started as a separate unit and took the name Mizoram Football Association. MFA was registered under society act in the year of 1980. MFA covers 8 regional districts. It sends state teams for Santosh Trophy and Senior Women's National Football Championship.

The 2016–17 season is the 33rd season in the history of Aizawl Football Club and their second in the I-League, India's top flight professional football league. The season began on 1 August 2016 and will conclude in May 2017. The club ended the I-League campaign as the champions after they were reinstated into the league after they were relegated the previous season. The club will also participate in the Federation Cup while they also made it to the semi-finals of the Mizoram Premier League and the Durand Cup.

They reached the final of the Mizoram Premier League, losing to Chhinga Veng FC. The club started in the 2018 AFC Champions League but lost to Zob Ahan in the playoff round. This meant that they qualified for the 2018 AFC Cup where they finished bottom of the group. In the Super Cup, they were eliminated in the quarter-finals by East Bengal.
