Cricket Association of Mizoram is the governing body for cricket activities in the Mizoram state of India and for the Mizoram cricket team. It is a full member of the Board of Control for Cricket in India. [1] [2]

History

The Cricket Association of Mizoram was established in 1992. The Association regularly applied for BCCI membership but could not get it. [3] [4] Among the north-east teams, before 2018, Mizoram was the only state without BCCI associate status. In 2008, after Lodha Panel ordered "One state, one vote" reforms, north east states were expected to play in the 2017–18 senior domestic season but BCCI ignored the reforms order. [5] [6] After a long legal battle, in July 2018, BCCI granted the association full member status and the team made its senior-level debut in the 2018–19 season. [7] [8]

On 27 October 2017, Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) granted Associate Membership of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to the Cricket Association of Puducherry (CAP). Prior to this, it was affiliated to Tamil Nadu Cricket Association(TNCA) as a District Association. In 2019, CAP was granted full membership of the BCCI.

The 2018–19 Indian cricket season was the 126th cricket season since the commencement of first-class cricket in India. The international cricket season started early in June 2018 with Afghanistan playing its home matches against Bangladesh. Afghanistan went on to win the T20I series 3–0. The Indian national team started its season hosting Afghanistan for the latter's Test cricket debut. India won the match in two days by an innings and 262 runs. West Indies toured India and lost the Test series 0–2, ODI series 1–3 and the T20I series 0–3. Australia toured India and won the T20I series 2–0 and ODI series 3–2. India also played host to Afghanistan's home games against Ireland. Afghanistan won the T20I series 3–0 and Test series 1–0. The ODI series was drawn 2–2. England women's toured India and lost the WODI series 1–2 but won the WT20I series 3–0.
