Ashbrook High School is a public high school in the Gaston County Schools public school district located in Gastonia, North Carolina. The school was the result of the merger of two former senior high schools, Holbrook Senior High and Ashley Senior High.[ citation needed ] The first class graduated in 1971. Its attendance range covers most of the central and eastern portions of the City of Gastonia, as well as the towns of Ranlo and Lowell, and the community of Springdale.
Ashbrook High School last won the North Carolina State Football Championship in 2002 as well as the Baseball State Championship in 2003.[ citation needed ] In 2015, the Ashbrook men's basketball team made it to the 3A state championship basketball game.[ citation needed ]

Its attendance range covers southwestern Gaston County and includes the western portions of the City of Gastonia as well as the communities of South Gastonia and Crowders Mountain, and the surrounding rural area. The current principal is Dr. Bryan Denton.

David Robbins is a retired American basketball coach. Robbins is best known for coaching at NCAA Division II power Virginia Union University, where he won 713 games and three NCAA Division II men's basketball tournament titles. Out of all NCAA coaches who have won more than 700 wins, Robbins is the second winningest coach with a winning percentage of 0.786. He is second only to Adolph Rupp who had a winning percentage of 0.822. Jerry Tarkanian, Dean Smith, Steve Moore, Roy Williams, Bill Self, Mike Krzyzewski, John Calipari, and Bo Ryan make up the remaining top ten. Seven out of 10 of those coaches have been inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Robbins, Moore, and Ryan have not.
Felton Jeffrey Capel II was an American National Basketball Association assistant coach, and, prior to that, a college basketball head coach. He was head coach of the Old Dominion Monarchs team from 1994 to 2001, of the North Carolina A&T Aggies from 1993 to 1994 and of the Fayetteville State Broncos from 1989 to 1993. He was the father of Pittsburgh Panthers head coach Jeff Capel III and former Appalachian State Mountaineers head coach Jason Capel. He was also an assistant coach with the NBA's Charlotte Bobcats. On November 15, 2011, it was announced that Capel was hired as an assistant coach for the Philadelphia 76ers.
Wade Hampton High School is a public high school in Greenville, South Carolina, United States. The school primarily serves the communities of Wade Hampton and Taylors, South Carolina. The school was opened in the fall of 1960, consolidating former high schools Paris Mountain and Taylors and some students who formerly attended Greenville Senior High School. The original buildings were torn down and the new building campus re-opened in January 2006 on the same site.
