Ashok Kumar Balakrishnan [1] is an Indian actor who has appeared in predominantly Tamil films. [2]

Career

Originally from Thanjavur district, Ashok Kumar grew up in Mumbai. He was a Bharatanatyam dancer and won the Nrithyamayoor (transl.Dancing Peacock) Award from the Government of Maharashtra. He played Krishna in the Hindi television serial Krishna (1993-97). He made his feature film debut with R. T. Neason's Muruga (2007) and starred in Pidichirukku the following year. [3] He made a special appearance as a Tamil actor in a song from the Malayalam film Mulla (2008). [4] Ashok made his Telugu debut with the bilingual Kaki (2015), which was made by Vetrimaaran's assistant director. [5]

Pidichirukku is a 2008 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film, produced by Kool Productions Chida Shenbaga Kumar, directed by Kanagu, starring Ashok Kumar, Vishakha Singh, Sampath Raj, Ganja Karuppu and Saranya Ponvannan. The cinematography is by D. V. Raameswaran and Manu Ramesan scored the music. 'Pidichirukku' was the title which N. Linguswamy was about to use for Run. Director Kanagu, who was working as an assistant director with N. Linguswamy, got the title from him. The film was released during Pongal 2008 to mixed reviews.

Kuselan is a 2008 Indian Tamil-language dramedy film directed by P. Vasu. An official remake of the Malayalam film Kadha Parayumbol (2007), it was produced by Pushpa Kandaswamy, Aswani Dutt and G. P.
