The Asian Swimming Championships are a major aquatics event, held every four years among the athletes from Asian countries. It is conducted under the governance of the Asian Amateur Swimming Federation, the governing body of aquatics in Asia.

Water polo at the 2010 Asian Games was held in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China from November 13 to 25, 2010. In this tournament, nine teams played in the men's competition, while the women's tournament made their first participation with four teams.

The South American Under-23 Championships in Athletics is an under-23 athletics competition held between the member associations of the South American Athletics Confederation (ConSudAtle). Rules and regulations are displayed on the ConSudAtle webpage. In 2006 and 2010, the championships were held as part of the athletics section of South American Games (ODESUR).

The 9th Asian Swimming Championships was held 15–25 November 2012 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It was the second time that Dubai hosted the Championships; the city previously hosted in 2004. The 10th Asian Swimming Championships will be held in 2016 in Japan.

The Southeast Asian Swimming Championships are a biennial aquatics championships for countries from Southeast Asia organised by South East Asian Swimming Federation (SEASF). The first edition of these championships were the aquatics competitions at the 2012 Southeast Asian Swimming Championships held in June 2012 in Singapore. Championships among masters began 2019.
