Askov is a small town, with a population of 1,935 (1 January 2024), [1] in Vejen Municipality, Southern Denmark Region in Denmark.
Askov is located just west of Vejen. The two towns are separated by a few hundred meters of open land and are connected by a combined road and bicycle path with street lights.
Askov Church and Askov Højskole are located in the town.
The Poul la Cour Museum, established in 2000, is located in the original laboratories of the inventor Poul la Cour. [2]

Niels Hansen Jacobsen was a Danish sculptor and ceramist. He is most famous for creating the once controversial sculpture, Trold, der vejrer kristenblod. The name of the statue is taken from a story in Norse folklore where the hero hides in the troll's castle. Poul la Cour was a Danish scientist, inventor and educationalist. Today la Cour is especially recognized for his early work on wind power, both experimental work on aerodynamics and practical implementation of wind power plants. He worked most of his life at Askov Folk High School where he developed the historic genetic method of teaching the sciences. Early in his life he was a telegraphic inventor working with multiplex telegraphy.

The Gedser wind turbine is located near Gedser in the south of the Danish island of Falster. It was constructed by the engineer Johannes Juul in 1957 for the SEAS electricity company with support from the Marshall Plan. Its innovative design was a major breakthrough in the development of wind turbines.

Askov Højskole is a Danish folk high school, that is located in the village of Askov in southern Jutland between Kolding and Esbjerg. It was founded in 1865 as an extension of Denmark's first folk high school, which had been established in 1844 in Rødding by Christian Flor. The first principal of Askov Højskole was Ludvig Schrøder.
Paula Trock (1889–1979) was a Danish weaver who began producing her own fabrics at the Troba workshop in Sønderborg in the early 1930s. In 1945, she established Spindegården near Vejen in the south of Jutland which she headed until 1969. There she developed innovative processes, producing a wide range of textiles, especially for use in the home. Trock's curtains were commissioned for the United Nations Headquarters in New York, for Marselisborg Palace in Aarhus, and for the Royal Yacht Dannebrog.
Jenny Erasmine la Cour (1849–1928) was a Danish teacher and textile artist. After attending Askov Højskole as a student, she taught there and in 1885 took charge of a house for girls undertaking teacher training. In 1888, she attended the folk high school in Åkarp, Sweden, to learn weaving and embroidery. The following year she gave courses in weaving in her home, pioneering the revival of hand weaving in Denmark. In 1886, thanks to a grant, she opened a weaving school attached to the Askov school where she taught 800 students over the next 25 years. In 1913, together with a number of colleagues, she established a weaving school in Copenhagen, Husflidsselskabets Vævestue.
