The Association of Flight Attendants (LHR) is the British section of the international Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, a US-based trades union which represents nearly 60,000 flight attendants at 19 airlines. The Association of Flight Attendants is part of AFL-CIO affiliate, Communications Workers of America and a member of the International Transport Workers' Federation.

All AFA members working for the same airline and assigned to the same domicile form the Local Council. The President, Vice President and Secretary, who are elected to a three-year term by the members of each Local Council, form the Local Executive Council. AFA (LHR) is affiliated to the Trades Union Congress in the United Kingdom and organises among United Airlines cabin crew based at London Heathrow Airport.

Mesa Airlines Airline of the United States

Mesa Airlines, Inc. is an American regional airline based in Phoenix, Arizona. It is an FAA Part 121-certificated air carrier operating under air carrier certificate number MASA036A issued on June 29, 1979. It is a subsidiary of Mesa Air Group and operates flights as American Eagle and United Express via respective code sharing agreements with American Airlines and United Airlines. It serves more than 180 markets in the Western Hemisphere. In a 1997 article from the Journal of Air Transportation, Mesa's safety record was noted as having the fewest incidents among domestic regional airlines at that time. Mesa filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in January 2010, hoping to shed financial obligations for leases on airplanes it no longer needed and emerged from bankruptcy in March 2011. In November 2017, Mesa opened a new training center in Phoenix. The 23,000-square-foot facility features a full-size CRJ-200 cabin trainer aircraft, 14 classrooms, and has the capacity to train 300 crew members at one time.

The United Transportation Union (UTU) was a broad-based, transportation labor union that represented about 70,000 active and retired railroad, bus, mass transit, and airline workers in the United States. The UTU was headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio. Communications Workers of America U.S./Canadian labor union

Communications Workers of America (CWA) is the largest communications and media labor union in the United States, representing about 700,000 members in both the private and public sectors. The union has 27 locals in Canada via CWA-SCA Canada representing about 8,000 members. CWA has several affiliated subsidiary labor unions bringing total membership to over 700,000. CWA is headquartered in Washington, DC, and affiliated with the AFL-CIO, the Change to Win Federation, the Canadian Labour Congress, and UNI Global Union. The current president is Chris Shelton.

Association of Flight Attendants

The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA is a union representing flight attendants in the United States. As of January 2018, AFA represents 50,000 flight attendants at 20 airlines. Since 2004, AFA has been part of the Communications Workers of America (CWA), an affiliate of AFL-CIO. AFA is also an affiliate of the International Transport Workers' Federation.

A Directly Affiliated Local Union (DALU) or federal labor union is a U.S. labor union that belongs to the AFL-CIO but is not a national union and is not entitled to the same rights and privileges within the Federation as national affiliates.

Patricia A. Friend is the former International President of the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, AFL-CIO. A United Airlines flight attendant since 1966, during her 16 years as International President, Friend was a respected leader in the airline industry and throughout the labor movement.

Veda Shook is the former International President of the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, AFL-CIO. An Alaska Airlines flight attendant since 1991, she previously served as AFA's International Vice President for a term beginning January 1, 2007. Today, AFA-CWA represents nearly 60,000 flight attendants at 23 airlines. She was one of the 53 members of the Executive Council of the AFL-CIO.

Laura Glading is a labor union activist and leader. She was elected president of the Association of Professional Flight Attendants (APFA), the independent union that represents flight attendants at American Airlines, in February 2008. Glading was elected to a second term in February 2012. She is currently the executive director of labor and employee relations for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Sara Nelson is an American union leader who serves as the international president of the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, AFL-CIO. A United Airlines flight attendant since 1996, she previously served as AFA's international vice president for a term beginning January 1, 2011. AFA-CWA represents nearly 50,000 flight attendants at 20 airlines.
