Atila Emek (born 5 March 1947) is a Turkish lawyer,bureaucrat and politician from the Republican People's Party (CHP) who had served as the Member of Parliament for Antalya from November 2002 to June 2011. [2]

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu is a Turkish economist,retired civil servant and social democratic politician. He is leader of the Republican People's Party (CHP) and has been Leader of the Main Opposition in Turkey since 2010. He served as a Member of Parliament for İstanbul's second electoral district from 2002 to 2015 and as an MP for İzmir's second electoral district as of 7 June 2015.

The Anatolia Party was a political party in Turkey led by Emine Ülker Tarhan. It was founded on 14 November 2014 following Tarhan's resignation from the Republican People's Party (CHP) due to disillusionment with the leadership of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. Its logo is composed of a rising sun with a sunflower,representing Anatolia and Thrace respectively. The party's name was subject to a legal complaint by former MP Yılmaz Hastürk,who claimed that the political parties law in Turkey forbade party names to refer to geographic regions,though a former party was named Great Anatolia Party without facing legal problems.

Actually there is one other parliament between the 11th Parliament of Turkey and the 12th parliament of Turkey. But the members of the chamber of deputies in 1960–61 term were appointed members rather than elected members and usually chamber of deputies is not included in the list of the parliaments in Turkey. According to the new constitution,there were two houses in the parliament. There were 450 MPs in the lower house ;Republican People's Party (CHP) with 173 MPs,Justice Party (AP)with 158 MPs,New Turkey Party (YTP) with 65 MPs and Republican Villagers Nation Party with 54 MPs. Since no party was able to win the majority of seats,this term witnessed four coalition governments.

Levent Gök is a Turkish politician from the Republican People's Party (CHP) who currently serves as one of the three parliamentary group leaders for his party since 22 August 2014. He succeeded Muharrem İnce,who resigned to contest the 18th CHP Extraordinary Convention as a leadership candidate. He has been a Member of Parliament for Ankara's first electoral district since the 2011 general election.
A constitutional referendum was held in Turkey on 16 April 2017 on whether to approve 18 proposed amendments to the Turkish constitution that were brought forward by the governing Justice and Development Party (AKP) and the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP). As a result of its approval,the office of the Prime Minister was abolished and the existing parliamentary system of government was replaced with an executive presidency and a presidential system. The number of seats in Parliament was raised from 550 to 600,while,among a series of other proposals,the president was given more control over appointments to the Supreme Board of Judges and Prosecutors (HSYK). The referendum was held under a state of emergency that was declared following a failed military coup attempt in July 2016.
