Aurora Perrineau (born September 23, 1994) is an American actress and model. She is best known for starring as Shana Elmsford in Jem and the Holograms (2015), the live-action film adaptation of the 1980s animated television series Jem , Giselle Hammond in Blumhouse's Truth or Dare (2018), Tanya in Netflix's When They See Us (2019), and as C in HBO's Westworld (2022). Her major parts in Both Westworld and When They See Us helped garner Emmy and Golden Globe nominations and wins for each show. She is currently on Kaos in which she is garnering rave reviews from critics.
Perrineau was born to model Brittany Perrineau and actor Harold Perrineau. [1] [2] Perrineau is a model signed to Click Model Management, Inc. [3] In November 2017, Perrineau filed a police report with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department accusing scriptwriter Murray Miller of sexual assault in 2012 when the actress was 17. [4] Girls creator-writer-actress Lena Dunham initially defended Miller, who was a writer for the series, but later retracted her statements. [4] On August 10, 2018, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office declined to file charges against Miller. [5] [6]
In 2012, Perrineau starred in the direct-to-video film Air Collision . [7] In 2014, Perrineau appeared in episodes of Newsreaders [8] and in Chasing Life as Margo. [9] In April 2014, it was announced that Perrineau was cast in the role of Shana in Jem and the Holograms , based on the 1980s cartoon. [10] The film came under fire from fans of the cartoon, upset that the voice cast from decades earlier was not hired, with further complaints personally directed against the biracial Perrineau for not being black enough. [11] [12]
In July 2014, Perrineau was cast in Drake Doremus's film Equals . [13] [14] [15] [2] The film had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 5, 2015. [16] Perrineau had a small role in the film Passengers , released on December 21, 2016. [17] [18] In 2018, Perrineau was cast as Giselle Hammond in the Blumhouse supernatural thriller film Truth or Dare . [19]

Jem and The Holograms, also known as simply Jem, is an American animated musical television series that ran from 1985 to 1988. The series is about record company owner Jerrica Benton, her singer alter-ego Jem, and the adventures of her band Jem and The Holograms. The series was a joint collaboration by Hasbro, Sunbow Productions and Marvel Productions, the same team responsible for G.I. Joe and Transformers. The creator of the series, Christy Marx, had also been a staff writer for the aforementioned programs. The animation for most of the episodes was provided by Japanese animation studio Toei Animation. Eleven episodes and the opening sequence were instead provided by the South Korean studio AKOM.
Harold Perrineau is an American actor. His breakout role was in the independent film Smoke (1995), for which he was nominated for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Male. He went on to appear as Mercutio in Romeo+Juliet (1996) and Link in The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions. On television, he started as Augustus Hill in the HBO series Oz (1997–2003), Michael Dawson in the ABC television series Lost (2004–2010), and Sheriff Boyd Stevens in the MGM+ television series From (2022–present).
Tyler Garcia-Posey is an American actor and musician. He performed in his early years in a number of children's film and television roles, for which he was twice nominated for a Young Artist Award. He was known for his roles as Raul Garcia in Doc (2001–2004) and Ty Ventura in Maid in Manhattan (2002). As an adult, he is known for playing the central character Scott McCall in the MTV series Teen Wolf (2011–2017), although he has since been cast in a number of film roles and has also performed in voice acting roles. In late 2011 to 2012, he won a number of youth acting awards,including a Teen Choice Award, and was nominated for several others. He was active for several years in the band Lost in Kostko, which he co-founded in 2009.
Samantha Newark is an English musician and actress. She is best known for her voice-over work as the speaking voice of Jem and Jerrica in the animated cartoon series Jem. As a teenager, Newark became a voice-over talent in mainstream television. Her work on "Jem" produced a serious cult following that persists to this day. She lent her voice to many radio and TV projects while writing and performing her original music as a solo recording artist in Los Angeles CA, Nashville TN and Dallas, Texas. In 2015 Newark appeared in the live-action feature film adaptation on Jem and the Holograms directed by Jon M. Chu.

From 2005 to 2009, she had a recurring role as Gigi Silveri on the drama One Tree Hill. She portrayed Tracy Stewart in MTV's Teen Wolf from 2015 to 2016.

Their directorial and screenwriting debut, Decadeless, premiered at the Portland Oregon Women's Film Festival in 2019.
Equals is a 2015 American science fiction romantic drama film directed by Drake Doremus, produced by Michael Pruss, Chip Diggins, Ann Ruak, Michael Schaefer, and Jay Stern, and written by Nathan Parker from a story by Doremus. It stars Nicholas Hoult and Kristen Stewart as two people living in a dystopian, post-apocalyptic world where all the people are robotic, emotionless workers, and any sign of emotions is treated as a disease. Additional roles are played by Guy Pearce and Jacki Weaver.
Jem and the Holograms is a 2015 American musical drama film produced and directed by Jon M. Chu, written by Ryan Landels, and starring Aubrey Peeples, Stefanie Scott, Hayley Kiyoko, Aurora Perrineau, Ryan Guzman, Molly Ringwald and Juliette Lewis. Very loosely based on Christy Marx's 1980s animated television series Jem, the film was produced by Allspark Pictures and Blumhouse Productions.

The film stars Lucy Hale, Tyler Posey, Violett Beane, Hayden Szeto, Sophia Taylor Ali, and Landon Liboiron as a group of college students who play a game of truth or dare while on vacation in Mexico, only to realize it has deadly consequences if they do not follow through on their obligations. Jason Blum produced through his Blumhouse Productions banner, and Universal Pictures distributed the film.

It revolves around three humans as they discover their common connection to a prophecy and to each other while dealing with the corrupt and arrogant gods of Greek and Roman mythology. The series was released on Netflix on 29 August 2024. In October 2024, the series was cancelled after one season.
