Austin A. Lane is a college official and former college president in the United States. In 2020 he was appointed Chancellor of Southern Illinois University. [1]
He was born in New Jersey and graduated from Hackensack High School. He graduated from Langston University. He was Executive Vice Chancellor of Lone Star College in 2015. [2]
He served as president of Texas Southern University (TSU),succeeding John M. Rudley. [2] [3] He departed after controversy over an admissions scandal at its law school and questions over entertainment spending from a foundation connected to the university. [4]
He and his wife Loren Lane have three children. [5]

Since 2001 she has held the William Stamps Farish Chair at University of Texas,and,since 2009 she has served as the dean of the Jackson School of Geosciences at Texas. In 2013 she became the president of the American Geosciences Institute.
