The Garonne is a river in southwest France and northern Spain. It flows from the central Spanish Pyrenees to the Gironde estuary at the French port of Bordeaux. Its length is 529 km (329 mi), of which 47 km (29 mi) is in Spain ; this extends to 602 km (374 mi) if the Gironde estuary is included. Its basin area is 56,000 km2 (22,000 sq mi), which extends to 84,811 km2 (32,746 sq mi) if the Dordogne, which also flows into the Gironde estuary, is included.

In the first innings of the third test match in Delhi, Gautam Gambhir and V. V. S. Laxman became the first Indian players to both score a double century in a test innings. Fannia is a very large genus of approximately 288 species of flies. The genus was originally described by the French entomologist Jean-Baptiste Robineau-Desvoidy in 1830. A number of species were formerly placed in the genus Musca.
Euryomma is a genus of species of flies of the family Fanniidae. The genus was originally proposed by the entomologist Paul Stein in 1899. Although at that time most authorities placed them in the family Muscidae. The distribution of Euryomma is mainly Neotropical, on the whole restricted to the Americas, there is also one Nearctic species, the exception being of the very cosmopolitan E. peregrinum
Australofannia is a genus of flies of the family Fanniidae. There is only one known species, Australofannia spiniclunis Pont, 1977, from southeastern Australia. The genus was first described by the English entomologist Adrian C. Pont in 1977.
Piezura is a small genus of small flies of the family Fanniidae. Distribution is mostly restricted to the Holarctic biogeographic region. Two species, P. boletorum and P. graminicola are found in Europe. Unlike the other Fanniidae, Piezura have plumose arista.
Fannia pusio, known as the chicken dung fly is a fly species of the family Fanniidae including over 260 species of flies worldwide. Originally native to Central and North America, its distribution is now largely global, having been introduced with livestock. As its common name implies it can be very abundant at poultry facilities, resulting in considerable nuisance by their huge numbers. Anthomyia is a genus of flies in the family Anthomyiidae. They look rather like small houseflies, but commonly have conspicuous black-and-white patterning. This appears to be a mild form of aposematic coloration, though they do not appear to be distasteful unless they have eaten something offensive to the predator and have loaded their guts with it.

Johann Andreas Schnabl (1838–1912) was born a Pole of German descent, and an entomologist specializing in Diptera. His original name was Jan Sznabla, but he changed it to Johann Andreas Schnabl so that it was more accessible to people who did not speak Polish. His family moved from Dresden to Warsaw in the late 18th century. Warsaw was the capital of South Prussia at that time.
Euryomma muisca is a species of fly in the genus Euryomma. It was first described by Grisales et al. in 2012.
