Awakebutstillinbed, stylized as awakebutstillinbed, and abbreviated as absib, is the solo project of American musician Shannon Taylor.

History

Taylor (born November 13, 1991) [1] grew up in Mesquite, Texas, a suburb of Dallas, Texas. Taylor later moved from Mesquite to York, Pennsylvania with her family at the age of fifteen. Later, Taylor moved to San Jose, California, where she currently resides. [2] In January 2018, Taylor released her first album as awakebutstillinbed titled What People Call Low Self-Esteem Is Really Just Seeing Yourself the Way That Other People See You. [3] The album was re-released on Tiny Engines upon Taylor's signing with the label in February. [4] [5] The album received a 7.7 out of 10 rating from Pitchfork. [6] The album was featured at number 98 on Brooklyn Vegan's list titled "100 Best Punk & Emo Albums of the 2010s". [7]

This album is often mistakenly referred to as Is It Broken, Doctor? on some internet discussion boards and file-sharing services due to the inclusion of that phrase on the cover of the album, on which the actual title is not present.

Gouge Away is an American hardcore punk band based in Florida that formed in 2012. The band is influenced by post-hardcore and noise rock bands such as Pixies, The Jesus Lizard, Fugazi, Unwound, the Plot to Blow Up the Eiffel Tower and Nirvana. Gouge Away released its debut album , Dies in 2016 to underground acclaim, and released its second album Burnt Sugar through Deathwish Inc. in 2018.

The emo revival, or fourth wave emo, was an underground emo movement which began in the late 2000s and flourished until the mid-to-late 2010s. The movement began towards the end of the 2000s third-wave emo, with Pennsylvania-based groups such as Tigers Jaw, Algernon Cadwallader and Snowing eschewing that era's mainstream sensibilities in favor of influence from 1990s Midwest emo. Acts like Touché Amoré, La Dispute and Defeater drew from 1990s emo and especially its heavier counterparts, such as screamo and post-hardcore.

Chamber is an American metalcore band from Nashville, Tennessee formed in 2017. They have released two EPs titled Hatred Softly Spoken and Final Shape/In Search of Truth in 2018 before releasing their third EP Ripping / Pulling / Tearing in 2019. They then released their first studio album Cost of Sacrifice in 2020. The band then released their fourth EP titled Carved in Stone in 2022, before releasing their second studio album A Love to Kill For in 2023. They are currently signed to Pure Noise Records.
