Axiom Mission5 (or Ax-5) is a private spaceflight to the International Space Station. The flight will launch no earlier than December 2025 and last about 30 days. It will be operated by Axiom Space and use a SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft. [2] [3]

Crew

Axiom Mission 5 will carry a professionally trained commander and three private astronauts. [2] When it was announced in 2023 that Axiom would send a Hungraian Astronaut from the HSO to the ISS, it was speculated that the mission would be Ax-5, however, Hungarian astronaut Tibor Kapu would be assigned to Ax-4. [4]

The Czech government had signed a memorandum of understanding with Axiom in 2024 to launch the first Czech astronaut, ESA astronaut Aleš Svoboda, on a future mission as part of the "Czech Journey to Space". With Ax-5 being the last Axiom mission, it is likely he will be a member of the crew. [5]

However, the British government also announced that they were planning on buying all four seats on an upcoming Axiom mission for astronauts Meganne Christian, Rosemary Coogan, John McFall, and Timothy Peake, however, this has yet to be confirmed. [5]
