BT Inspiration

The BT Inspiration is a PBX telephone switchboard made by Lake Communications of Ireland. It is also sold in Scandinavia and France under the name Doro ip500pbxw and is very similar to Pathway. The systemphones for Inspiration and Pathway look identical but they are not interchangeable. This switchboard is no longer sold by BT who now use BT Versatility.

An electric switchboard is a device that directs electricity from one or more sources of supply to several smaller regions of usage. It is an assembly of one or more panels, each of which contains switches that allow electricity to be redirected. A switchboard is divided into different interconnected sections, generally consisting of a main section and a distribution section. These two sections are sometimes replaced by a combination section, which is a section that can fulfill the roles of both aforementioned sections. Switchboards can also sometimes come with an auxiliary section that is used to house devices that cannot be housed in the same section as other devices.

The Mazda BT-50 is a compact/mid-size pickup truck produced by the Japanese manufacturer Mazda since 2006. It is a larger version of the predecessor B-Series pickup and is not sold in the Japanese and North American markets. The second-generation Ranger has been designed by Ford Australia, with a Mazda derivative sold as the BT-50. The third-generation BT-50 was revealed in 2020, now based on the Isuzu D-Max.

The BT Ambassador is a telephone private branch exchange switchboard. Manufactured for BT by the General Electric Company, it was discontinued in 1991. There was a larger version called Senator. Both systems used proprietary phones, allowed direct access to outside lines, had an intercom facility and allowed basic call diversion. Apart from this, there were few features, and these systems are now obsolete. Ambassador systems handled 1 line & 3 extensions or 2 lines and 4 extensions, while the Senator could handle 5 lines and 10 extensions, depending on the cards in the control unit. Used Ambassador and Senator equipment is available on the second hand market in the United Kingdom. These days they could provide intercoms facilities for private homes but do not have much use in a modern office, due to lack of features and interoperability.

It is manufactured by Taratel Communications previously Lake Communications in Ireland as the OfficeLink. In South Africa it was sold by Tellumat as the Convergence 30 or C30, in Australia it was sold as the Commander Connect, in the USA it was sold by Inter-tel as the Encore CX and by Mitel as the Mitel 3000

The BT Merlin M4000 was a Personal computer sold by British Telecom during the 1980s as part of the Merlin range of electronic machinery for businesses. It was not developed by BT but was a rebadged Logica VTS-2300 Kennet, and a completely different machine from the Merlin Tonto which was a rebadged ICL OPD.
