The World Games are an international multi-sport event comprising sports and sporting disciplines that are not contested in the Olympic Games. They are usually held every four years, one year after a Summer Olympic Games, over the course of 11 days. The World Games are governed by the International World Games Association, under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee.
The BWF World Junior Championships is a tournament organized by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) to crown the best junior badminton players (under-19) in the world. The championships is held annually and consists of two separate competitions: a mixed team championships followed by an individual championships.
The BWF World Ranking is the official ranking of the Badminton World Federation for badminton players who participate in tournaments sanctioned by Badminton World Federation. It is used to determine the qualification for the World Championships and Summer Olympic Games, as well as BWF World Tour tournaments. Seedings of draws at all BWF-sanctioned tournaments are conducted using the BWF World Ranking. Players under 19 years of age are eligible to rank in the BWF World Junior Ranking, which were introduced in January 2011. The following lists are the rankings:
Zheng Siwei is a Chinese badminton player specializing in doubles. Zheng is a three-time World Champion and two-time Asian Games gold medalist in the mixed doubles with his current partner Huang Yaqiong. He also helped the national team clinch the 2018 Thomas and 2019 Sudirman Cup.
Anders Antonsen is a Danish badminton player. He won the gold medal at the 2015 European Junior Championships in the boys singles event, and at the same year was awarded the European Young Player of the Year. Together with the national team, he won the European Men's Team Championships in 2016 and 2018; also European Mixed Team Championships in 2017, 2019, 2021 and 2023. Antonsen was the champion at the 2019 Minsk European Games, 2021 European Championships, the silver medalist at the 2017 European Championships, and the 2019 World Championships, and the bronze medalist at the 2021 and the 2023 World Championships.
Lee Zii Jia is a Malaysian badminton player. He was the men's singles gold medalist at the 2019 SEA Games and won his first BWF Super 1000 title at the 2021 All England Open. Lee is the 2022 men's singles Asian champion, winning the title at the 2022 Badminton Asia Championships.
Nyl Kiyoshi Yakura is a Canadian badminton player. He captured two gold medals at the Pan American Games, winning the men's doubles title in 2019 and 2023, and also a silver in the mixed doubles in 2019. Yakura, who grew up in Pickering, Ontario, currently lives in Toronto and trains at the KC Badminton Club in Markham. He has Japanese and Indonesian heritage.
An Se-young is a South Korean badminton player from Gwangju, who was named 2019’s Most Promising Player of the Year and 2023's Female Player of the Year by the BWF. She won the gold medal at the 2023 World Championships, making history as the first Korean women's singles player to win the World Championships title. She then clinched the women's singles gold medal at the 2022 Asian Games. An was also a part of South Korea’s gold medal winning teams at the 2022 Uber Cup and at the 2022 Asian Games.
Daniel Marthin is an Indonesian badminton player affiliated with Djarum club since 2015. He was a champion at the 2019 Asian and World Junior Championships in the boys' doubles event. Marthin was part of Indonesia winning team at the 2020 Thomas Cup.
The Algeria national badminton team represents Algeria in international badminton team competitions. The team made their first-ever appearance at the Thomas Cup in 2018. The Algerian team have never qualified for the Uber Cup and the Sudirman Cup.
The Nepal national badminton team represents Nepal in international badminton team competitions. The Nepalese national team is controlled by the Nepal Badminton Association, the governing body for badminton in Nepal.
The Myanmar national badminton team represents Myanmar in international badminton team competitions. The best result for both men and women's team was a third place finish at the 1979 and 1995 Southeast Asian Games. The men's team was selected to take part in the 1976 Thomas Cup but failed to qualify into the first round.
The Botswana national badminton team represents Botswana in international team competitions and is controlled by the Botswana Badminton Association in Gaborone, Botswana. The national team was formed after badminton was starting to be played in Motswana cities, Orapa, Selebi-Phikwe and Jwaneng.
Yeremia Erich Yotje Yacob Rambitan is an Indonesian badminton player, who also plays for Exist Jakarta in the national event. He won the gold medals at the 2022 Asian Championships and 2023 SEA Games. In his young age, Rambitan won the mixed doubles Junior National Championships title in 2016, and the boys' doubles bronze medal at the World Junior Championships in 2017.
The Laos national badminton team represents Laos in international badminton team competitions. It is managed by the Badminton Lao Federation. The Laotian team participated in the Southeast Asian Games and won three bronze medals in 1959 and 1961. The national team also competes in the Lao International, also known as the BEERLAO International Series.
The Brunei national badminton team represents Brunei in international badminton competitions. It is controlled by the Brunei National Badminton Association. The Bruneian team competed in the Summer Universiade in 2007. The team was placed in Group D and finished in 20th place.
The Timor-Leste national badminton team represents East Timor in international badminton competitions. While badminton is not a popular sport in East Timor, the nation has competed in tournaments such as the Asian Games and the BWF World Junior Championships.
The Afghanistan national badminton team represents Afghanistan in international badminton team competitions. It is controlled by the Badminton Federation of Afghanistan and competes under the South Asian region. Afghanistan competed in the Asian Games individual event. The Afghan junior team has competed in the BWF World Junior Championships mixed team event, also known as the Suhandinata Cup. The team finished in 34th place.
The Bolivia national badminton team represents Bolivia in international badminton team competitions. The Bolivian national team is controlled by Federación Boliviana de Bádminton, also known as the Bolivian Badminton Federation located in Sucre. The team competes under the Badminton Pan America confederation.
The Saudi Arabia national badminton team represents Saudi Arabia in international badminton team competitions and is organized by the Saudi Badminton Federation. The team are also known as Akhdar Al-Riyshat. The team are affiliated with BWF, Badminton Asia and the Arab Badminton Federation.
