Badvel is a Municipality in Kadapa district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Badvel Town is located in Two mandals. It is the headquarters of Badvel revenue division. [2] Major portion of Town comes under Badvel mandal and remaining portion of Town comes under Gopavaram Mandal. It comes under Badvel revenue division. [3]

Badvel is just 57 kilometres (35 mi) away from Proddatur and 59 kilometres (37 mi) away from Kadapa which are major cities of Kadapa District. Badvel is the 4th biggest town of Kadapa District followed by Kadapa, Proddutur, Rayachoty. NH-67 passes through Badvel Town. Geographically town is located at the foot hills of Eastern Ghats.

Badvel is an assembly constituency in Andhra Pradesh. Currently it is reserved for SC's. [4]

Education

The primary and secondary school education is imparted by government, aided and private schools, under the School Education Department of the state. [5] [6] The medium of instruction followed by different schools are English, Telugu.

Annamayya district District in Andhra Pradesh in India created in 2022

Annamayya district one of the twenty-six districts in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh and one of the eight districts in the Rayalaseema region. Rayachoti is the district administrative headquarters and Madanapalle is the largest city in the district. The district is named after the Annamacharya, a 15th-century Hindu saint hailing from Tallapaka, Rajampeta and the earliest known Indian musician to compose songs called sankirtanas in praise of the Lord Venkateswara. The district was formed from Madanapalle revenue division of Chittoor district and Rajampeta revenue division and a newly formed Rayachoti revenue division from Kadapa district. Madanapalle revenue division is the largest Revenue Division in the district. The newly formed district has 64.53% literacy rate, which is lower than state literacy which stands at 67.35%.
