Guayaquil, officially Santiago de Guayaquil, is the largest city in Ecuador and also the nation's economic capital and main port. The city is the capital of Guayas Province and the seat of Guayaquil Canton. The city is located on the west bank of the Guayas River, which flows into the Pacific Ocean at the Gulf of Guayaquil.
Guayas is a coastal province in Ecuador. It is bordered to the west by Manabí, Santa Elena, and the Pacific Ocean ; to the east by Los Ríos, Bolívar, Chimborazo, Cañar, and Azuay; to the north by Los Ríos and Bolívar; and to the south by El Oro and the Pacific Ocean.

La Puntilla's parish is one of the most exclusive residential and entertainment districts in Ecuador. It has many Gated Communities, and several retail developments are located in the suburb. Its close proximity to the country's largest city, Guayaquil, allows many of its residents to work there. Most of the upper-class families in Guayaquil live at La Puntilla's Parish in Samborondón.
El Empalme is a town in Guayas, Ecuador, near Los Ríos and Manabí provinces. It is the seat of El Empalme Canton, the northernmost canton in Guayas, created in 1971.
Durán, also known as Eloy Alfaro, is the second largest city in the province of Guayas, Ecuador and the seat of Durán Canton. It is located near the confluence of the Daule & Babahoyo rivers, where the Guayas River enters the ocean, across the Guayas River from Guayaquil. The name "Eloy Alfaro" was chosen because of the Ecuadorian ex-president Eloy Alfaro Delgado. According to the National census in 2022, the city had a population of 295,211. Many of its inhabitants commute to other places for work and it can be considered a "dormitory town". However, many people who live in Durán find work within the canton by opening "comedores" or small restaurants, selling produce at the market, or even opening little stores with basic produce and house necessities. The towns Durán, Samborondón, and Guayaquil are connected by the bridge Rafael Mendoza Avilés.
Daule, Guayas, Ecuador is a city located in central Guayas, Ecuador, on the Daule River. It is the seat of Daule Canton, created November 26 of 1820.
Pedro Carbo is a town located in the coastal Guayas, Ecuador, near Manabí province. It is located at the 63 kilometer marker on the road from Guayaquil to Manabí. It is the seat of Pedro Carbo Cantón, founded in 1984. As of the census of 2022 the town had a population of 24,882. The town is named after Pedro Carbo Noboa, a 19th-century politician, diplomat and writer from Guayaquil.
The Guayaquil Canton, officially the Municipality of Guayaquil, is a canton in the center of the Guayas Province in western Ecuador. The canton was named after its seat, the city of Guayaquil, the most populous city in Ecuador.
Ventanas it is an Ecuadorian city; head of the Ventanas Canton, in the Los Ríos Province, as well as the fourth most populated city in the Province of Los Ríos. It is located in the center of the coastal region of Ecuador, on an extensive plain, crossed by the Zapotal River, at an altitude of 24 meters above sea level and with a rainy tropical climate of 26 °C on average. It is called "The Corn Capital of Ecuador" for its important production of corn. At the 2022 census it had a population of 41,531, making it the thirty-eighth most populous city in the country. It is part of the metropolitan area of Babahoyo, since its economic, social and commercial activity is strongly linked to Babahoyo, being a "dormitory city" for thousands of workers who travel to that city by land daily. The conglomerate is home to more than 250,000 inhabitants.

Its Canton Capital is General José de Villamil, also known as Playas. It is located 96 kilómeters from the capital of the Guayas Province, Guayaquil. It borders to the north and east with Guayaquil Canton, on the west with Santa Elena Province, and to south with the Pacific Ocean. Its territory has an area of 270.2 sq km and a population of 58,768.
The COVID-19 pandemic in Ecuador was a part of the worldwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2. The virus was reported to have spread to Ecuador on 29 February 2020, when a woman in her 70s tested positive for the virus. Ecuador was described in April as emerging as a possible "epicentre" of the pandemic in Latin America, with the city of Guayaquil overwhelmed to the point where bodies were being left in the street.
Huasaga, also known as Cab. en Wampuik, is a rural parish located in the Taisha canton of Morona Santiago Province, in the Amazon region of Ecuador. The parish was officially established on February 20, 1989, and covers an area of 124,574.89 hectares. The population of the parish is estimated to be around 2,000 inhabitants, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INEC) of Ecuador.
