The Asian Football Confederation is the governing body of association football, beach football, and futsal in some countries/territories in Asia and Oceania. Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands, both territories of the United States, are also AFC members that are geographically in Oceania. The Asian Ladies Football Confederation (ALFC) was the section of AFC who managed women's association football in Asia. The group was independently founded in April 1968 in a meeting involving Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore. In 1986 ALFC merged with AFC.

In European football, the UEFA coefficients are statistics based in weighted arithmetic means used for ranking and seeding teams in club and international competitions. Introduced in 1979 for men's football tournaments, and after applied in women's football and futsal, the coefficients are calculated by UEFA, who administer football within Europe, as well as Armenia, Israel and the Asian parts of some transcontinental countries.

The UEFA Futsal Champions League is an annual futsal competition for European club teams organized by UEFA. It was founded as the UEFA Futsal Cup in 2001 and replaced the Futsal European Clubs Championship, an unofficial competition held since 1984. The final of the first edition was played in a single game in Lisbon, while the following four editions were decided over two legs. Since 2006–07, the winner is decided through a final four tournament.

The Spanish futsal league is divided into divisions. The top teams play in the División de Honor. In each division, a team plays all other teams twice, once at home and once away.

Dundee Futsal Club is a Scottish futsal club based in the city of Dundee, who compete in the Scottish Futsal League. The club made history by becoming the first ever SFA Quality Marked Futsal Club in 2014.

The FAI Futsal Cup is a cup competition organized by the Football Association of Ireland for futsal teams based in the Republic of Ireland. The winners qualify to represent the Republic of Ireland in the UEFA Futsal Cup. The competition was introduced in 2007 and the inaugural winners were Shamrock Rovers. The 2007 tournament was referred to as the Eircom U21 Futsal League and the 2008 and 2009 tournaments were referred to as the Futsal League of Ireland or the FAI National Futsal League. Since 2010 it has generally been referred to as the Ireland Futsal Union Cup.

The Baltic Futsal League is a new futsal club commercial competition involving 8 teams from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, and Belarus.

FK Kauno Žalgiris is futsal club from Kaunas, Lithuania. The club has been dominating Lithuanian Futsal A Lyga and the Lithuanian Futsal Cup in the recent years. The club is a regular to the main round of the UEFA Futsal Champions League, reaching the #9 in the top European club ranking at the end of 2020-21 season. The club was known as FK Vytis futsal before an acquisition by basketball and football club Kauno Žalgiris in 2021.
