Ban (Persian : بان‎, also Romanized as Bān; also known as Pām)^[1] is a village in Shamsabad Rural District, in the Central District of Arak County, Markazi Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 694, in 188 families.^[2]

Persian, also known by its endonym Farsi, is one of the Western Iranian languages within the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European language family. It is primarily spoken in Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and some other regions which historically were Persianate societies and considered part of Greater Iran. It is written right to left in the Persian alphabet, a modified variant of the Arabic script.

Shamsabad Rural District is a rural district (dehestan) in the Central District of Arak County, Markazi Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 6,004, in 1,645 families. The rural district has 19 villages.

The Central District of Arak County is a district (bakhsh) in Arak County, Markazi Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 543,859, in 150,880 families; excluding those portions, the populations was 535,449, in 148,646 families. The District has five cities: Arak, Davudabad, Senjan, Karchan and Karahrud.
