The BSc in Oceanography program was started on 3rd January 2017 at the University's temporary campus in Mirpur, as part of the first-ever launch of the Bachelor class in the University. Then in 2018, the first batch of BSc in Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering classes started. Two more program classes started in 2019. LLB in Maritime Law and BBA in Port Management and Logistics. 2020 BSc in Maritime Fisheries first batch admission and classes start.

On 24 January 2020 in regular cabinet meeting, chaired by prime minister, agreed in principle to the Acts for the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman University in Kishoreganj District. Z M Parvez Sazzad, a professor at the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) in Dhaka University, will serve as the founding vice-chancellor of the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman University in Kishorganj for the next four years starting from 27 January 2021.

The book can be found on several educational institutions' recommended reading lists. It is included in two additional classes at Prime University in Bangladesh. Additionally, the Department of English at the Islamic University of Kushtia and the Department of Folklore provide courses for students to acquire knowledge on the topic.
