They were lined up against a wall and shot by four unknown assailants, two of whom were disguised as police officers.

The Luby's shooting, also known as the Luby's massacre, was a mass shooting that took place on October 16, 1991, at a Luby's Cafeteria in Killeen, Texas. The perpetrator, George Hennard, drove his pickup truck through the front window of the restaurant before opening fire, killing 23 people and wounding 27 others. Hennard had a brief shootout with police in which he was seriously wounded but refused their orders to surrender and eventually killed himself.
Woo Bum-kon was a South Korean policeman and spree killer who murdered 62 people and wounded around 35 others in several villages in Uiryeong County, South Gyeongsang Province, South Korea, during the night from April 26 to April 27, 1982, before committing suicide.
The Shedden massacre involved the gang-related killing of eight men, whose bodies were found in a field five kilometres north of Shedden, a small village in the Canadian province of Ontario, on April 8, 2006. Four vehicles, with the bodies inside, were first discovered by a farmer. The day after the bodies were discovered, five people, including one member of the Bandidos motorcycle gang, were arrested for the murders, and three more people were arrested in June 2006. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said the killings were an isolated event and there were no fears for the safety of local residents. The name Shedden massacre is a misnomer. The killings took place at a farm outside of Iona Station and Shedden was the hamlet closest to where the bodies were discovered in a farmer's field.
The Gonagala Massacre was a massacre that occurred on 18 September 1999, in the small village of Gonagala, located in the Ampara District of Sri Lanka. According to reports, over 50 men, women and children were hacked to death in the middle of the night. The massacre is attributed to the LTTE, which is banned as a terrorist organisation by a number of countries including the United States, the United Kingdom and the European Union.

On 7 April 2015, Andhra Pradesh Police shot twenty suspected woodcutters in the Seshachalam forest in Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh, India. Red Sanders Anti-Smuggling Task Force DIG Kantha Rao said that the smugglers attacked the team with sickles, rods and axes. Asked if the attack could have been quelled without such fatalities, Rao said, "We gave them several warnings but they did not stop attacking us. There were over a hundred of them." Asked how many of his men were grievously injured, he said, "Nobody is seriously hurt from our side. Their superior training saved their lives."
On the early morning of 21 April 1999, a 55-year-old former police officer named T. Maniam was ambushed by two men who used weapons to brutally beat him to death on the road between his house and his neighbour's home in Phoenix Garden, Singapore. His death was witnessed by his elder stepdaughter and one of his neighbours, together with the neighbour's maid. Following police investigations, three suspects, including Maniam's second wife Julaiha Begum, were arrested for the alleged murder, and the remaining two suspects, Loganatha Venkatesan and Chandran Rajagopal, were identified to be the men seen at the scene of crime.
On the afternoon of 14 May 1986 in Owen Road, Singapore, two primary school boys, 12-year-old Keh Chin Ann and his same-age best friend Toh Hong Huat, who were classmates from the same school and class, were last known to be walking together to school after Chin Ann fetched Hong Huat from his house nearby their school. The boys were never seen again, and they went missing on that afternoon of 14 May 1986. Since then, investigations and search efforts were made to locate the boys' whereabouts. The case was named as The McDonald's Boys due to the Singaporean branch of the fast-food chain McDonald's offering a hefty $100,000 reward for any information related to the boys' whereabouts.
On 21 March 2016, 28-year-old Zhang Huaxiang, a China-born nurse working in Singapore, was murdered by her close male friend Boh Soon Ho, a Malaysian working as a cafeteria worker in Singapore. Boh's motive behind the murder was due to his feeling jealous over Zhang, whom he considered his girlfriend, not reciprocating his feelings and went out with another man, which caused him to use a towel to strangle Zhang in a fit of anger, and he even tried having sex on her corpse.
